 Cardcaptor Sakura (the girl on the left) is a 10 year old girl from Tokoyo, Japan. She is in the fouth grade and is also in the cheerleading team. One day after school, she stumbles onto a mysterious book called The Clow in her dad's study down in the basement. Stacked inside the book was some mystical cards known as Clow cards, with a card named Windy on the top. As soon as Sakura had read the card off though, a gust of wind started and blew all the cards away!
Once the gale had stopped, out hovered a yellow creature with wings; known as Kerberus or Kero-Chan. He appeared angry and shocked when he had heard that all the Clow cards had disappeared out of the book. He then told Sakura that she must become a Cardcaptor and capture all the cards back. This is how she became Cardcaptor Sakura! Now Cardcaptor Sakura must go on many quests and adventures, discovering many secrets along the way. To try and capture all those 52 Clow cards back in their card form, to place back into the Clow book.

Sakura Kinomoto is the main character of the series. She is a grade 4 student at the Tomoeda Elementary School. She is very cheerful and very sociable when it comes to meeting people. She is also good at any sport, and a fast learner when it comes to developing her skills. She looks just like an ordinary girl from the outside, that is, if you do not know her secret... as a Card Captor. How did she became one? It was just another of those 'days' when suddenly, she heard a strange noise coming from their basement. As she climb down the stairs, she notices that the racket was from a strange looking book. She then became curious and opened it, without knowing what the consequence of her actions will bring to the world. Alas, it was already too late. The 52 cards, which had been guarded by Cerberus for centuries, had finally escaped. Cerberus or Kero (what Sakura calls him in his smaller form) therefore made Sakura as a Card Captor, a person capable of "sealing" the cards and wielding it for their own use. Life as a "Card Captor" was not easy at first for the responsibilities at hand may sometimes, as well, get out of hand. But Sakura's friends and Kero are always there to help her in her battles with the cards. Name: Syaoran Li (Li Syaoran if you prefer the Japanese way)
Syaoran Li is a descendant of Clow Reed himself. Gifted with the same ability Sakura has, he can also seal and capture the Clow Cards and then wield it for later use. He uses his sword to do his spells, as Sakura use her key. Originated from Hong Kong, he was first introduced on the anime as a �transfer student� and as �Sakura�s rival� in the ownership of the cards. Later on in the series, he and Sakura became more like a team, helping each other in dealing with the powerful Clow Cards. Li also studies at the Tomoeda Elementary School and is one of Sakura's classmates. He often stays silent in their room and is not as sociable as Sakura. He was known to have a bratty attitude at first, but he's really a nice person. Its just that he has a hard time expressing his true feelings, especially to the one he really loves. He wears his green and yellow Chinese designed costume on battles regularly, not like Sakura who wears a different costume every skirmishes, courtesy of Tomoyo. Some of the Clow Cards that Sakura sealed chose him to be their owner, but he often hands them over to Sakura anyway. He also has a disturbing behavior of blushing whenever Yukito is around. But on the later part of the series, he blushes for Sakura as well. Its really hard to understand at first what's with Li but you'll eventually get to that as the series progresses. Name: Kerberos
Kero is the "false" form of Cerberus. Due to the lost of the firey and earthy card, he was forced to deal with his new "kawaii form" He is, by the way, the guardian of the Clowbook and the powerful Clow Cards as well. Sakura, somehow, had broken the seal of the Clowbook that scattered all the 52 Clow Cards into different place. So it is now his responsibility to guide Sakura in her battles with the cards, that is, if he still want to return to his original form as the big and mighty.... He likes to play video games and is often good at it, except when he gets distracted by Sakura and by other "forces" of nature. Well, he really is a video game addict. (Just like me!!! ^_^ ) Name: Tomoyo Daidoji (Daidoji Tomoyo if you prefer the Japanese way)
Tomoyo Daidouji is Sakura's very best friend. Not only are they friends, they're cousins too! They were seen with each other most of the time throughout the series. Tomoyo is somewhat, Sakura's personal "virtual artist". Tomoyo designs all Sakura's battle costumes (Sakura has a new costume every battle, imagine how many costumes Tomoyo had already designed) and video cam recorder (she practically videos all of Sakura's battles and even some of her everyday life ). Tomoyo is also good at singing (she is a member of the school choir club) and is always getting good grades. She is also the daughter of a successful toy company owner, so she was being constantly bugged and surrounded by her bodyguards. But her VIP status does not keep her from witnessing Sakura's battles. Name: Meilin Li (Li Meilin if you prefer the Japanese way)
Meiling Li is Syaoran's cousin from Hong Kong. She entered Tomoeda Elementary School also as an exchange student. She likes Syoaran very much and thinks of Sakura as her rival (for Li's heart). She is good at fist fights and is also athletic like Sakura. Even though a cousin of Li, she does not have the abilitity to capture or wield a Clow Card (she might not be included in Reed's lineage). She also claims to be Li's fianc�e, which was really just a make up story. She went back to Hong Kong after the Judgment Day.
Eriol Hiiragizawa is an exchange student from England who joined Sakura's class on season 3. He is very mysterious, and possesses power as strong as Clow Reed's. Li seems to sense this and is suspicious about Eriol's enigmatic aura. Sakura appears to ignore this and considers him as kind and gentle. Eriol has two guardians, Spinel Sun and Ruby Moon. He is also good at painting. He also seem to get quite along well with Yamazaki. Actually, Eriol is the reincarnation of ... Clow Reed. Name: Touya Kinomoto (Kinomoto Touya if you prefer the Japanese way)
Touya Kinomoto is Sakura's older brother. He always teases Sakura as a "monster" which makes Sakura really mad at him. Even though he seems to be constantly picking at his little sister, he really cares for her. Touya goes to Seijou High school located just besides Tomoeda Grade school. Everyday, he rides in his bike to go to school together with Sakura trailing behind him in rollerblades. They also have their own "division of labor" in dealing with their household chores. Touya also lands on any kind of part time job, in which Sakura always meets him. Its like coincidence at first but it really was already "fated." Anyway, Touya had already suspected at the beginning that there was something not right going on with her little sister. He also was able to realize that Sakura is really a Card Captor, and Kero is not just a "stuff toy." Touya seems to have something to do with the Clow Cards too, considering his strong senses and his relationship with Ms. Mizuki. Name: Yukito Tsukishiro (Tsukishiro Yukito if you prefer the Japanese way)
Yukito Tsukishiro is Touya's best friend. They had been seen with each other though out the series. Yukito is a transfer student at Seijou High school and is in Touya's class. He only lives with his grandparents for his parents resides on a different country. He also has an enormous appetite and tends to eat more than a human can consume (he eats a dozen times a day). We can can also say that he is an all around guy that excels not only academically but also in sports. Sakura and Li are both attracted to him. At first, they even fight over him. Yukito and Sakura had also became friends since Sakura really strives to learn more about him. He is also very kind and generous, and acts as an older brother to Sakura. Actually, Yukito is the reincarnation or false form of Yue. |
