~Note: I put these
series in one page because both series were about pretty much the same thing!~
Story: Princess Pearl I is about a girl, Zi Wei, in search of her father, the king of China. But somehow, the king mistakes his long lost daughter for another girl named Xiao Yan Zi. To make the explanation short, this whole series is about the king finding out who his real daughter is. Xiao Yan Zi persuades Zi Wei to play along with the act. And so, the two girls begin a life in the palace where they both fall in love with the king’s sons. Meanwhile, the main queen of the palace, (back then, kings of China had a lot of wives) who had most of the power, tries to unfairly torture the two girls because she is scared that the girls (as soon as they got married) would take control of her position and force her to leave as queen. Zi Wei and Xiao Yan Zi manage to keep the lie a secret, but soon, they feel guilty and tell him the truth.
When he finally finds out the truth, he doesn’t take the news well. He puts both girls into prison while the Queen, who is very evil, punishes them by slashing their backs. In the end, the king realizes what his wife did and sentenced her to be killed. But in the end, Zi Wei stops the king from punishing her because of her good heart and forgives her. It turns out to be a happy ending.
Characters:
Zi Wei- one of the main
characters who is in search of the king. She is a smart person and the king
admires her very much.
Xiao Yan ZI- a girl w/ street
smarts who gets annoying at times. She knows some martial arts.
Wu a’ Ge- the fifth son of the
king. He inherits the thrown after his father. (This I don’t know exactly
why?!) He falls in love w/ Xiao Yan Zi.
Er Kang, Er Tai- two of the king’s
sons who were adopted, by the king, into the king’s family. His real parents
work as one of the important officers in the king’s kingdom. Er Kang falls in
love w/ Zi Wei, while Er Tai marries a Hun princess.
Huang Shang- the king of China.

Huang Ho- the evil queen of China.
I give this soap opera: 
out of 5 because it was mostly sad and short.

~Princess Pearl II~
Story: the sequel to the first Princess Pearl. This story is a little better than the original. It has more drama and the queen becomes corrupted and turns evil (again!). She never seems to learn her lesson, eh? Anyways, this story is about the love between the two couples: Wu a’ Ge & Xiao Yan Zi AND Er Kang & Zi Wei. Their love is tested in many ways. But more importantly, the king’s mother, Lau Fo Ye, would come to the palace and so, they must set their best example for her. But the queen stirs trouble and soon, the four of them get in trouble with the king’s mother. It’s really a sad story because those four endure so much suffering and pain. Will their love ever stand a chance? (muahhahhaahha!) Figure the ending out…
New Characters:
Lau Fo Ye- The king’s mother.
Ching- used to hang around Er
Kang, when she was small. She falls in love w/ Er Kang and trouble stirs
because Lau Fo Ye wants to match make her w/ Er Kang. She’s also a nice person
and later falls in love w/ someone else.
????- Xiao Yan Zi’s lost
brother. He falls in love w/ Ching.
~This is a soap opera that contains comedy, drama,
action, and suspense!~
I Give this soap opera: 1/2 out of 5
because the ending I did not like! But overall, very very good!
