| Engle v Vitale started when a New York Board of Regents, that introduced a prayer along with the usual Pledge of Allegiance, called the Regent Prayer, a non-denominational prayer that was introduced in accepted by the administration of some New York High Schools While students did not have to say this prayer, you could not openly critize or object to this prayer, students did not have to say this. Even as this, parents of ten of the students were object and outraged that this and filed a suit against the school. |
