February 14th // Valentine's Day
Valentine lived as a priest during the great Roman Empire who has become a martyr to many because he risked his life to wed couples without the consent of an upper authority. This day is actually the day that Valentine passed away but it has become the day for lovers today. It is especially an important day for women in the Asian culture because it is widely accepted for them to express their love to the person they great interest in. The most common gift is chocolate because love is associated to be sweet and delicious. But this gift giving is also rapidly changing, where personalized gift items are becoming ever so popular. There is one work force that becomes very busy during this period. It is of course the postal workers who have to deal with all the presents, love letters, and cards.
March 14th // White Day
This day only exists in the Eastern continent and not in the West. It is the men's turn to confess their feelings to the woman of their desire with a simple gift of candies. The meaning of White Day in Korea is for the man to reply to the woman, who confessed her love to him on Valentine's Day, with an answer. He gives her the candy only if he feels the same way as her but ignores this day entirely if he doesn't feel the same way as her (a very subtle hint of rejection). For couples, the significance of this day is for the person who received a present on Valentine's Day to also present a gift to the significant other.
April 14th // Black Day
Black day is a consolation day for the women who did not have a partner on Valentine's Day and for the men who did not give candies to anyone on White Day. They wear black clothes, from head to toe, they eat black bean noodles, and even at a caf the coffee has to be black. There is a tendency for those people to couple up, too.
May 14th // Yellow and Rose Day
If people still didn't find a partner up to this point, they wear yellow clothes on this day and eat yellow curry as a sign of being single. The color matches so well to the season of spring and probably is apt to stand out to anyone's eyes. May is the month of budding roses and this is why it would be nice to spend the day outside. This would be a nice date course for couples because nature stimulates the senses and it is the very reason why it is also called "Rose Day".
June 14th // Kiss Day
All couples that met on the fourteenth day of a month may participate in this wonderful event. These people do not have to feel shy about kissing the other person because they are obligated to do so. A nice place or a romantic atmosphere would contribute to a better mood.
July 14th // Silver Day

August 14th // Green Day
Green Day stands for nothing else other than the forest. Escape the sizzling heat for a day with your partner to the cool and refreshing environment of the forest. All the singles, on the other hand, may engage themselves on liquor, drinking binge due to their sullen solitude.
September 14th // Music Day & Photo Day
It is a great opportunity to show off your partner to all your friends at a huge social event (i.e.: nightclub). This is a great place for the single friends to socialize and to maybe find someone of interest for themselves. Another activity couples do on that day is to take pictures under the crisp sky of September.
October 14th // Wine Day
Couples celebrate the season of autumn over wine. Dinner is not the usual casual atmosphere but a fancy restaurant, where a couple is able to spend a romantic and wonderful evening together. These occasions call for heavier discussion topics, such as their future goals or visions.
November 14th // Orange Day & Movie Day
This is the day one drinks orange juice and couples watch a doubleheader of movies on that day. The first one may be an action movie, which helps get rid of some stress. The second should be a tearjerker that moved you and your partner. After that kind of movie, both people are well deserving of a cup of refreshing orange juice.
December 14th // Hug Day
Lovers may hug as long as they want on this day. The embrace for theses couples is a symbol of their happiness in public. It carries a greater significance for those who met on February and this hug is a sign their successful relationship so far. It is nice to feel the warmth of the other person and is a psychological reassurance that this winter will not be as cold as before.
