Before This Picture...

He stood before the picture
A picture that held in it the things he saw,
The things he experienced
And the things he would have liked to happen.
His precious prize before him,
A magnificent model of emotions;
Passionate yet daring,
Innocent yet dangerous,
Pure but yet tainted.
A speculation of desires
But a screen that protects it from the earthly flaws...
Exposed but not naked.

He stood before this painting,
As beads of sweat streamed down his black, velvet face.
He realized the intensity and torture of his masculine soul,
As he struggled to seduce the canvas for the desired effect,
Rather than to seduce the object itself.
No stroke or subtle brushwork could illustrate such celestial beauty...

He stood before this piece of art with an intent yearn
To be entwined in the fibres of its handiwork.
But little did he know his heart was already bounded by the very glimpse of eternal beauty...
