| Hey!!! My Synesthesia page is up!! Eager to learn??? | ||||||||||||||||||||
| I see you have made it to my Psychology page. This will hopefully turn out to be on of my favorite linked pages. I am currently getting a Masters of Science in Psychology and have discovered how much I really enjoy it. I have always been interested in Child Psychology, but as I went along in college, I found many different avenues which intrigued me! So, here I am sharing some things I enjoy with you. Basically, this page will be updated everytime I find another interesting internet site to visit and when I read another wonderful book. I will make sure to let you know where to get the books I list so you can get them and read them. I would love for you to eventually email me and tell me what you think of this page and possibly send me a critique of any books you might have read from my list I have added a new part of my psychology page. I am still working on it, but I hope to have it done as soon as I can. This page will basically be about a disorder I had to do research about a year ago. It sparked my interest and I want people to understand it a little more. This disorder is know as Synesthesia. To learn more about it, click on the link below the book list and head to my synesthesia page. NOW OPEN!! (please take time to sign my guestbook...thanks) Now I have decided to add a page on Depression and Bipolar. This page will be up soon and I will let you know when it is ready for viewing. BOOK LIST: The Professor and the Madman: a tale of murder, insanity, and the making of the English Oxford Dictionary by Simon Winchester This book was absolutely intriguing! I found it difficult to get through the parts in which they explained the making of the OED, but the overall impression is wonderful. A must read if you enjoy books with a little mystery and history. Welcome to my Country by Lauren Slater This is written by an actual therapist and some of her most memorable clients. Quite entertaining. These clients are people I would definitely never forget. If you want to explore the world of therapy, Slater offers a funny and caring view. An Unquiet Mind by Kay Redfield Jamison This a wonderful book that explores the world of a manic depressive. A little hard to read at the beginning, but it gets a lot better. I loved this book because it takes you into Jamison's world. She makes you feel as though you are experiencing her world first hand Whiskey's Children by Jack Erdmann (contributer: Larry Kearney; introduction: Anne Lamott) This book helps you experience the life of an alcoholic. You get so drawn in, you want to shake Jack sober. It is a really moving book and one for anyone who is an alcoholic and wants help and even for the loved ones of an alcoholic. This book give you a look into Jack's world. I believe that all these books are currently available through Amazon.com. I hope you enjoy them. Email me and let me know what you think!!! |
