Never Let Anxious Brunettes Drive

Within 5 minutes Anastasia had taken over the wheel complaining Nick was to slow and left him to give directions.

“Go left…No I mean right.”

“Make up your mind!”

“Right, sorry”

“Uhh…. figures we get stuck behind this old lady…Nick hold on we’re gunna pass her.”

“I don’t think that’s a good idea….”

10 minutes later Anastasia got out of the car followed by a very shaken Nick, “I am never getting into a car with you again.”

“It’s not my fault those cars were in the way.” She stated and then took Nick’s arm, “Let’s go.”

Within moments they heard the unmistakable cries from the triplets and they rushed in.

“Oh Jessee…” she ran to hug her older brother and the crying subsided from the three mouths, “How’s Caitlin?”

“I don’t know, she doesn’t want me in there with her…”

“Why?”

“Oh I don’t know last time I started laughing or something and then passed out before the first kid was out.”

She giggled and then remembered Nick, “Oh Nick, this is my brother Jessee, you remember him?”

Nick nodded but Jessee looked confused so Anastasia quickly relayed the story which caught the attention to Joe who was sitting near by, “Oh yeah you’re the famous one.”

Nick grinned, “yup”

“ I’m so sorry I didn’t introduce you to everyone,” Anastasia apologized, “this is Anne, Caitlin’s best friend, the two she is holding are Mint and Chocolate, the little boy sitting next to Joe is Chip…haha get it? Mint Chocolate Chip? Like the ice cream? Anyways and this little gentleman is Aj.”

Nick smiled and said hello

“Oh Nick you probably want to get back to your family…here,” she reached in her pocket, “Here’s 10 dollars I’ll call for a cab and you should call your family, Mandy’s probably worried.” She glanced up at Nick

“I can’t accept your money.”

“Sure offended me…take it.”

“I’m a multimillion dollar singer I think I can pay for my own cab.”

“No.” she shoved the bill in his pocket and kissed him on the cheek, “Please?”

He sighed, “Ok. Fine.”

“I’ll call for a cab and you can call your family.” She turned her back to him and as he did that Nick stuffed the money into her purse with satisfactory, and then dialed his own number.

“The cab will be here in 5 minutes I’ll wait with you outside.” She offered

They walked in silence, “Thanks, for helping me out like this Nick, I mean I know you don’t get to see your family very often and I really appreciate it.”

He smiled, “Piggy, don’t worry about it, you’d do it for me, right?”

“Of course, but thanks anyways. Especially since it’s Christmas.”

“Trust me, even though I don’t see them very often they still get on my nerves. This was a nice break.” A cab came up and beeped its horn, “Call me to tell me how Caitlin is, and let’s go out later in the week.” He said climbing into the vehicle

“Ok, I will,” she paused, “Thanks again.”

He smiled as the car pulled away, “Merry Christmas!” he called out

“Merry Christmas, Nick.”

Caitlin had a beautiful baby girl that night and named her Laura Anne, after her best friends. That night, well really it was that next morning once the house had settled down, everyone had stopped crying and most everyone were asleep Anastasia was awake. Not able to shake she played with her snow globe and sighed.

“You like him don’t you?” she looked up to see Jessee

“You couldn’t sleep?”

Jessee sat down next to Anastasia and nodded, he picked up the globe at swirled around the snow, “Nick, You like him.”

“What are you talking about?”

He laughed softly, “You like him admit it, it was written all over your face.”

“No it wasn’t, and I have Adam…and she has,” she hesitated, “Mandy”

He laughed again, “Let me tell you a story, Caitlin liked me way back when she was a freshman, but I didn’t want anything to do with her. I was blind but then she started liking someone else and I started dating someone who I thought I was totally in love with. As our friendship progressed I was like: wow, I could believe what I had missed out on, and got up the nerve to ask her out, the rest is history. And today when I held little Laura Anne in my arms I was so glad I didn’t let Caitlin go now I might be dating some bimbo looking for true love.”

“But it’s not like that, I love Adam.”

Jessee got up and shook his head, “and if it means anything I think he likes you too.” He got up left leaving Anastasia to think about what he had said.
