Round 1 vs Richard Meester playing a mono green fat creatures deck
He starts relaxed, actually casting something for the first time in turn 3. I let some creatures resolve, while I’m using all my search spells to find the Oath I needed. I get Oath into play when I’m still above 10 lives so I’m settled. I still take a long time to kill him with my Morphling as he has Power Matrix and a Spidersilk Armor so he is able to block my Morphling with a lot. So I just wait ‘till I draw a Powder Keg for the Matrix and an Enlightened Tutor to tutor for the only Seal of Cleansing maindeck.
Second game I get an early Oath of Druids. I have the Weaver in my hand. I draw some Powder Kegs though, which are great vs his kicked Kavu Titans. So I end up winning the damage race attacking with Morphling and saccing Spike Feeder each time to gain lives.
1-0 (2-0)

Round 2 vs Kuty Witold playing a stompy deck
This deck is faster so I’m a little more worried, also because there was no Oath in my opening hand. However my hand contained 2 Powder Kegs which are great vs all the 1cc creatures my opponent has. I also had a Mishra which blocked an Elvish Archer and made himself 3/3 after block to make my opponent regret his attack. After I’ve used both my Kegs to get nice 2 for 1 advantages, I Gaea’s Blessinged them both to my library and proceeded to draw even more J . I also drew a second Mishra and I ended up winning the game even without Oath!
So I was in a good situation because my opponent probably wouldn’t sideboard enchantment removal. This turned out to be the case as he only sided some River Boa’s and Uktabi Orangutangs. I get an early Oath, but he has a pretty fast start. I gain board control when I’m at 1 life and win with Morphling flying over, while my Weaver prevents combat damage in his turns.
2-0 (4-0)

Round 3 vs Iwan Hellemons playing Blue/Black/White Zoo with Moxes and some power cards.
He gets a second turn Phyrexian Scuta but I get a 2nd turn Oath. This 2cc enchantment turned out to be superior and it won me the game.
Second game I mulligan to 5, but I search my way into an Oath and I play it with some counter-backup and it wins me the game. He reminded me that we played vs eachother before in a Classic side event at Worlds 2000, then he had a mono blue artifact deck, using Moxes and Academy and Jayemdae Tomes. I played Necro back then and I got kinda screwed vs him both games. So I took my revenge this time J
3-0 (6-0)

Round 4 vs Martijn Wijker playing White Weenies with Tax/Rack/Land’s Edge and red burn.
He gets my life total down with Weenies, I Keg some, I searched into an Oath. He Firestorms me and his own creature to prevent me from Oathing, discarding some Land Taxed lands. I attack him with 1 Mishra all the time while he tries to burn me out. I have counters ready though and I win the game at 5 lives doing all the damage with the Mishra.
Second game he sideboarded out some weenies for some enchantment removal and more burn I suppose. This works pretty good as in the early game I lost 4 cards to counter an Aura of Silence while the Oath I played afterwards wasn’t all that usefull. I proceed to topdeck lot’s of land, which I keep in hand to prevent him from Taxing. I attack again with a Mishra. He plays Land’s Edge at 12 lives. I sigh having 1 Force of Will and 6 lands in my hand. But hey, 6 lands! I read Land’s Edge to make sure and I show him the 6 lands and I win, lucky me J . He would have won next turn as he could have Fireblasted 2 Mountains away and Tax for lands to finish me.
4-0 (8-0)

Round 5 vs Ricco van Prooijen with Mono Blue Control
He plays 1st turn Library of Alexandria to which I don’t have an immediate answer. So he gains insane advantage. He taps out early for a Morphling; I counter once; he Force of Wills. I pray to topdeck an Oath, but no and I lose to Morphling.
Again he gets the 1st turn Library of Alexandria and again he plays an early Morphling and I let it through hoping to topdeck an Oath and play it with Thwart, Fow and Counter backup, but that didn’t happen, then I played Fact or Fiction in my main phase, this still didn’t get me an Oath. Afterwards I wonder if I should have let him play a Morphling, I think so because the Library gained him a huge advantage and my only hope was to get him tapped out and counter his Force of Wills when I play Oath, because he could just let Library of Alexandria do it’s work and get a million Counterspells and Mana Drains, which would never let me play my Oath.
4-1 (8-2)

Round 6 vs Roel Huting with Black/Blue Necratog with some permission.
First game I play Oath which resolves, then we both play 4 Mishra’s. At first I just attacked him back when he had 2 Mishra’s as I thought I would win that race as I had more Mishra’s in hand, but he also had more Mishra’s so we stopped attacking, me being at 13, him at 10. Then not really much happened as I wanted to keep my lands untapped to be able to block all the Mishra’s. Suddenly he plays a Krovikian Horror which slowly eats my life total away, by being sacced and returned. He also drew cards with Library of Alexandria, so I was in a pretty bad position. I end of turn make 1 of my 4 Mishra’s a creature, pump it to 6 with all Mishra’s and Sword it to gain 6 lives. This buyed me some time and I played the Morphling out of my hand figuring I had to win that way or else I would slowly die to Horror. He didn’t Oath in his upkeep but played a Scuta. The Morphling could finish him in time before he could get some damage through with creatures and sac them to kill me, using the Horror. He made a mistake not countering the Swords he said. That certainly would have mattered as 1 time Krovikian Horror resolving would be game then, with me being at 4 lives and him having 3 Mishra’s.
Game 2 I get an early Oath but he uses a different strategy now, which was better as I sideboarded 3 Dust Bowls. He had Rapid Decays and Tormod’s Crypts to remove some cards from the game, preventing me to fully use my Oath engine. I Force of Willed them early but later one could resolve, but it was too late already as I had a Morphling and a Weaver and time was called.
