It doesn't take just a fast and good looking car to make a racer. The racer itself must be in unison with the car in order to complete the cycle. "That sounded so fruity". In this part, I dig deeper into the mind of this racer to find out the facts that truly make this racer, a racer.

"So why did you pick the Prelude as your platform of choice?"
"actually... i wuz a Mitsubishi person at first... before i even considered da prelude... i wanted a GTO cuz i thought da shape wuz so unique but later i found dat even if it wuz twin turbo... it would be a burden wiff all dat weight anywayz... so i switched off an wanted the GSX... at the time not many GSXz were up for grabz which made mah search hit da wall... truthfully i dint kno a gawd damm tyng bout Hondaz... but after i saw da prelude... it caught mah eye..."

"So you were never a Honda person to begin with?"
"actually i wuz nevva a car person... i woulda sold mah soul jez to hav a motorcycle... at da time i got into da racing werld i wanted a motorcycle instead... but as soon as dat vision ended... datz wen i started over an studied carz..."

"So you like my VFR?"
"anywayz... after i saw the prelude i fell for itz sleek shape... no other car had itz lookz at da time... all da otha carz produced had a sumwut bubbly look... which iz why the prelude stuck out the most... specially da biggo eyez... imma suckah fer big eyez yah kno.. it appliez to both femalez an vehiclez now i gez... but yea... if yu look out in da market no otha car haz dat design cuz it so dubious... likewize honda designz are all different if yu check out all da platz..."

"And about the S-14?"
"da S-14 iz as much uv a dream az it wuz since back den... da S-14 (240sx LE) haz almost da same bodylinez az da prelude... which iz why im proned to pull an SR20 outta mah ass wen itz time to hand down da prelude... well... sumpin wild dat no one will i gez... one other car dat i wanna give mad propz out to iz da GT-R series... not cuz da name skyline but da shape iz so similar due to da displacement... due to da engine size da front clip has to extend forward giving it a more... aggressive lower stance i gez..."

"Why become a tuner?"
"it really wuznt up to me... it jez ran in da family so i jez picked up were mah brother failed at... not dat he wuz a bad racer but he made da choice uv female ovva car... so dat wuz hiz first mistake..."

"But he has a girlfriend?"
"an i gotta phat ride..."

"It figures. So how did you process into tuner from a plain person?"
"street races... definitely street racez... if it hadnt been fer mah bro an hiz midnight runz out on da streetz an da freeway... i would still be a tuner but id prolly wouldnt hav put az much effort as i would now... if he didnt get his GSR repoed dat iz..."

"That's a good thing?"
"for me it is... cuz i was a late bloomer into the racing werld an dint kno a damm thing about DOHC... SOHC... turboz an wut not... but even if i wuz a late bloomer i friggin took time to research all mah shiet... an eventually i ended on toppa everyone elz... if i had da cash to back up mah brain i would hav a friggin rocket... but i dont... so im noticin more an more Qz bein thrown at mah direction deez dayz..."

"So do you consider yourself a mechanic?"
"no... mechanix werk in shopz... im a ghetto mechanix fer da streetz... derz hella lot more bout enginez dat i need to learn in order to say dat... so... im more lyk a street rat dat knoz a lil uv eberthang... aftermarket an upgrade shiet im alwayz on top uv... but OEM knowledge im friggin terrible at..."

"That's pretty ironic. So how do you feel when you're not racing?"
"lyk racing... not to be cheezi but itz da way uv life... yu outta most peepl should kno how it iz... wen yer sittin at home bout midnight an all yu hear iz exhaust goin off... yu get dat feelin lyk itz callin yu... i would go nuttz if i were yu cuz yu got better racez out in da expressway den we do hea out on da freeway cuz i toss an turn an shivver wen i kno a race iz goin down..."

"yu cant jez sit derr yah kno... cuz wen ayumi wuz stock... all i could do iz sit an say shiet like "fux i wish i could lower da car"... den wen dat wuz dun it wuz "fux i wish i could make er more agressive"... den wen dat wuz dun da list jez keepz pilin an pilin... dis process iz nonstop if yur dat dedicated... cuz fer me... everthang i hav iz good nuff to keep mah car runnin fer anotha 20 yearz... but derz alwayz sumpin new dat i wanna do..."

"And all you want to do is keep modding."
"right... i wanna stop an save money but itz 2 late now... once yu lower your car itz all over... cuz den yull want bolt onz... den electronix... den aerocosmetixx... forced induction... wut evva... da best uv da best jez nevva fail to build fast machinez..."

"But dey go broke doing so."
"tru but itz for sumpin yu luv yah kno..."

"So why not just buy a fast car to begin with. Like an FD?"
"well fer one da FD in da statez iz fuckin shitty... not lyk japan... but for da most part itz da process... hell i coulda got a twin turbo supra at da time i got da prelude... but fer me i couldnt see mahself havvin fun wiff da supra cuz i woulda went broke at literally died in bills at da cost uv partz... so it prolly comez down to money... if yah got it den fuck... be happy an go hog wild... im havvin fun wiff mah prelude..."

"If you notice these days, the price range for a high performance car has dropped a whole lot. How does that make you feel?"
"fuggin heated... cuz at da debut uv da 5th gen prelude it wuz priced round 27 Gz... which eventually lead to itz downfall cuz now yu can get an S2K... STI... EVO... wut evva fer bout 5 Gz more... it makez me a lil green eyed since i coulda gotten a car lyk deez if i had waited a lil longer... but im truly content an cheezin dat i got DOHC VTec under da hood..."

"And what about the upcomming generation of racers?"
"dey dunno shiet... lyk Mr. Ueno sed... peepl need to take more time wen it comez 2 tuning cuz yu cant jez go out an buy da most expensive car yu can get... i say... disregard any hand outz yu should recieve or can get fer a fast ride... although ayumi aint da top uv itz class in all da fab partz an all dat jazz... im proud cuz all da partz i paid fer an installed mahself... me an ayumi iz a pair to be reconned wiff cuz i dint go fer da fastest car i could afford at dat time..."

"Drum roll please! GSX right?"
"try WRX... popz wuznt too fond uv me gettin a uzed ride since it coulda carried a grippa probz... but bein me an all i couldnt settle fer it cuz i kno fer damm sure i dint earn an STI... i kno fer daym sho sum uv da peepz i kno iz driving mommy built carz an tryin to pull it off az dey own... it pisses me off..."

"A prelude over a WRX? I don't know about that move."
"well yu can kiss da wind... mah ridez legit... actually... in yer situation da WRX would be a smarter move cuz an FF type car aint good fer da highway... tokyo wize at least..."

"You've matured havent you?"
"i feel lyk it a lil... i kno a buncha shiet but i aint got da fundz to fund mah projektz yah kno... wut i look lyk... a rich dood or sumpin..."

"I mean logic wise. You seem more solid in what you're doing now."
"i unno bout dat... but yea i feel a lil more solid wen it comez to bitz an peecez... imma more visual person wen it comez to modding wut evva now... and processin knowledge iz moe faster also cuz i dun gotta second gezz a buncha tyngz deez dayz... lyk i sed bout da newbiez... jez take yer time 2 teach yerself fore yu go out an spend cash on uneeded partz..."
