Chapter 1
Aggie was a very pretty 14-year-old girl. She had beautiful blonde hair that reached to her shoulders. Her eyes were a very pretty baby blue. She always wore short, denim skirts, with cute blouses. She had a best friend named Tabitha who always would lend a helping hand when Aggie was in trouble.
Aggie was still trying to think how long ago it was when her mom and dad first hurt her. Aggie lived in a very abusive family, nobody knew about it because her parents had threatened to hurt her worse if she told. Aggie usually referred to her family as they, because she didn't want to admit that they were her mom and dad. Nobody except Tabitha knew about they, and Aggie was hoping to keep it that way.
Suddenly the phone rang and before her mom and dad could hear it Aggie picked it up.
"Hello?" Aggie asked into the phone.
"Hi Aggie! It's Tabitha."
"Hey Tabitha!" Aggie practically shouted into the phone.
"Today you weren't at school. Are you sick or did they get you?"
"They got me," Aggie answered sadly.
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah, pretty much. They left me with a black eye, and bruises up and down my leg, but they spared the belt, so it's been a good day."
"Why did they do this to you? Did you say or do something they didn't like?"
"Yeah, I deserved it, really. I was mouthing them when they asked me to do something."
"No one deserves a black eye for that!"
"No, I definitely deserved it," Aggie said matter of factly, "I'm afraid to walk out of my room, though,because they might start hurting me again."
"I'm coming over right now! You shouldn't have to deal with this alone."
"But Tabitha..."
It was too late, Tabitha had already hung up.
"What if my mom and dad find out that I told you about them. Then they might hurt me worse." Aggie said to thin air.
