The Runaway

Jenny looked up at the clock,  "Yes," she thought to herself, "One more minute and we'll be out of school for the weekend."
Jenny loved school because it kept her away from her family.  Usually she would be disappointed, but today was different because, today after school,  Jenny wasn't going home.  She was going somewhere far away from there.
Jenny was a 14-year-old girl.  She was a freshman at Avenue High school.  She always wore jeans and blouses with pictures or words on them.  She had hazel eyes, and strawberry blonde hair.
Finally the bell rang, "Yes!" Jenny said out loud, forgetting that she was in Vicky's class.
Vicky was Jenny's favorite teacher.  Vicky had a foster kid named Aggie who went to Carlton High.  Aggie and Jenny barely knew each other since Aggie was at a different school then Jenny.
Vicky looked at Jenny curiously.  "You are really excited to get out of school today, usually I can't make you leave."
"I'm going to do some really exciting stuf today!" Jenny said gathering up her two backpacks, "I'm just totally excited about it, thats all."
"Why do you have two backpacks?" Vicky asked suspiciously.
Jenny had never lied to Vicky before.  She usuallly trusted Vicky with everything.  Jenny knew, though, that to protect herself she'd need to lie to Vicky.
"Well," said Jenny, "I'm...uh...spending the night at my cousins house tonight.  Her parents are picking me up right after school."
"I see," Vicky said even more suspiciously, "What if they aren't waiting for you when you step out.  I better wait for them with you.  Take me to where they are picking you up, Jenny."
"Um...Thanks anyway, but they'll be here, I promise.  I uh...told them to...to come 30 minutes early."  Jenny said Quickly making up a lie.
"Whatever you say," said Vicky, "Just be careful Jenny okay?"
"Okay! I better go now.  They are probably waiting for me."
Then Vicky was alone in her room.

Jenny walked outside with her two backpacks bouncing on her back.  She walked on the road that led just straight ahead to the North.  As far as possible from her real house.
She passed her towns city limit sign in 3 minutes.  She hated her small town, she always complained about it.  In her school, Avenue High, everybody knew everybody else.  So if you told someone something it usually got out quickly.
Jenny kept walking and walking for about an hour.  All of the sudden Vicky's car pulled up beside her.
"Hey Jenny!" Vicky said, "You never told me you lived this far outside the school district."
Jenny looked up dreading what was coming next.
Please don't let her suspect anything, please, please, please.  Jenny silently prayed.
Then Vicky went over to where Jenny was standing, pulled over the car, and said, "Get in my car now, and on the way to my house tell me why you are running away."
