Pris arrived in Syracuse alone with the determination to accomplish what she had promised herself and her parents - the obtainment of a college degree. She enrolled at the University of Syracuse and majored in Psychology. Under the persuasion of PolyGram, she would return to HK to record albums. But everytime she left HK and arrived in Syracuse, she became an ordinary person all over again. She would shut herself out from the HK entertainment and spent her days studying in her room alone in this new york city. 6 years later, she passed all her classes with flying colors, and graduated with miraculous grades.
She returned to HK with her hit album, Welcome Back, in 1995. The audience's response was none the less thrilled. She continued riding on her fame until the late 90s. Various factors came into conflict - PolyGram's game plan for Pris changed, and so did the audience. The audiences' attention was spread amongst another generation of singers, and a different type of music. Music and artists were redefined - it became all superficial. Pris was dishearted.
She again disappeared from the public eye for 2 years..... |
