A Tutorial From My Own Experiences
Here's what I know:
There are lots of ways to make money on the internet and most of them are scams.
- NEVER sign up for anything that you have to pay a registration fee to use. If they really wanted to pay you, they could do it without you paying them first.
- Surfing for cash takes more time than it is worth
- Reading emails for cash never actually generates enough money to "cash out" (there's always a minimum amount that you have to earn before they give it to you - often you'll lose it after a month if you haven't made enough)(and they won't give you enough opportunities to actually make the money)
So how can I actually profit from the internet?
- Try using online auction sites like Ebay to clean out your closet - you never know what you have that somebody else may want. One hobby of mine is to go to yard sales and thrift shops, buy stuff for very cheap, and then resell it online where I can make a couple bucks profit. It will only make you lots of money if you put up many, many auctions or if you are an extremely good hunter at bargain shops. On a side note, if you're gonna be a seller, you should use PayPal since it's such a standard now. It's free as well.
- Some survey companies are valid. I am employed by NFO gives you points for surveys that you can use towards cash - it takes a while to make money, but it's just waiting for them to invite you to surveys so you're not really out anything for signing up.
- I use ItPaysToLearn.com for making a little bit of cash as well. It's not that great but the quizzes you get to take are pretty fun. One good thing about them is that you don't have to wait to hit some large amount to get paid - if you have earned even $1, then they will transfer it that same day to a Paypal account. QuickRewards is also a good one - I started that 2 days ago and have already made over $6. The key is that they're essentially paying you to get spam - so set up a free email account at Gmail or Hotmail and use that to sign up for offers.
- Contest websites are fun and there's always a chance you could get something out of it. Try Contest Hound for the latest chances to win money and prizes online.
- Shvoong.com will pay you ad royalties for writing them book abstracts. It doesn't add up to more than a couple cents per day per abstract (unless it's really good and people click on your ads alot as well) but if you write alot, they just continue making money as long as they are posted. I plan on leaving my 40 or so abstracts on the site until they run out of money. Also, on one specific day this year, they emailed me and told me that all members could get $50 for every 10 abstracts they wrote on that one specific day. I wrote 30 and sure enough I got $150. What do I care if they use my writing? I actually made up a book or two (that's our little secret).
- If you have a good website (unlike mine), you can basically sell ad space (mine doesn't pay me - thanks to Yahoo, that's what I get for using a free site). Not many reputable places will do it these days, but from what I hear you can make a decent amount from "adult" ads if you have the right kind of site.
- If you're decent at cards (I'm not), you can do what my old roommates use to do. They'd find the sites with the highest bonuses for depositing money. They'd play only the best of the best hands until they had played enough raked hands to cash out. Then they'd put it in a NetTeller account and move it to a different site. Between blackjack and poker, they made a couple thousand in a month. I, however, couldn't even manage to hold onto my free $75 from PartyPoker. Oh well.
