Part 1
Finally they made it�.. the long flight was filled with anticipation, tension, nervous laughter and most of all excitement.
�can you believe it?� jules turned to jess and took her hand. � we�re in bloody America. Santa Clara here we come�.
� I know I�m still awestruck, never in my life did I think my dream would become a reality.� Jess thought to herself� this would be better if joe was here, she looked at her best friend, then again maybe not. Jess could still feel joe�s lips upon hers, from the poignant kiss they shared, their first and last for awhile. Her eyes glazed over as she thought about him and she was jerked out of her musing when the intercom announced that they would be landing in California in � an hour. She squeezed jules� hand and sent out a prayer for safety.
*~*~*~*~*~ 1 month later~*~*~*~**~*~
�So, you�re the rookies from England� the team captain mocked their English accents.
�yeh, we are� jules, never the one to back down, stood toe to toe with the captain with jules� height they were practically eye to eye. The other senior members of the team ganged up behind the coach, while jess who hated confrontations, tugged on jules� shirt to tell her to back off.
� let�s see what you blokes, can do then,� the capt. Smirked. Jules turned to jess �did she just call me a bloke? Bloody yanks,� she tossed her hair and walked out into the field.
�gawd, it�s hard enough being Indian let alone an ENGLISH Indian�. Jess trotted after jules.
�wait!, hang on second.� Jules and jess turned around to see a girl running up to them.
�hallo, my name�s jen.( just thought I�d keep up with the J names). Welcome to the team, I know it doesn�t seem like it� but missy�s just on a bit of a power trip. You see our previous capt� had to resign, cause she bent up her knee and missy was the one to replace her. She�ll be fine when she realizes that you guys can play�. Jen looked sheepish and held out a hand for a shake.
�Hi, I�m jess, this is jules, and as long as I get to play I�ll be fine.� She shot a grin a jen and lifted her eyebrows in an unconscious way of welcome.
� it�s nice to meet you� jules shook her hand.
And this was the beginning to an amazing friendship�� or so it seemed.
Part 2
� WHAT!!!!!!!!!!! That�s unbelievable� if you think for one second that I�m going to let you��
�let me.. honey, listen up and listen good, I�m the captain. Not you, I call the shots and for now, you�re a benchie until you show me some respect!� Missy smiled and pointed to the bench. Jules stared her down, until she resignedly stormed to the bench.
�missy, respect is earned you didn�t even give her a chance?!� jen stormed at missy.
�wanna join her?�
�Damnit, you know you can�t do that so don�t flippin� turn your power trip on me. I�ll talk to the coach and tell her you�re being unfair to the new girls, you know we need them for the tourney.� Jen rationalized with missy and missy reluctantly brought jules back to the field on �probation�.
�Jules, you�ll never get to play if you don�t� work with her. Just let it be for awhile and we�ll let our talent shine through then she�ll have no choice but to ear dirt� jess tried to comfort jules.
�stupid flippin� cow�. Like she knows what she�s blabberin� about, respect, Bollocks!�

�Hey guys, I�m going to be heading up towards the caf� to study and have a soda wanna come?� Jen asked jules and jess. Jules and jess looked at each other and agreed to go.
�You�re going on your own?� asked jess.
�well I�m meeting a few friends there, non soccer friends, I thought maybe you guys would want to meet a few new ppl. I don�t know if you know but I�m 18 too, I just made it into santa clara a year earlier which is why I�m ranked a bit higher on the team, which still makes it illegal for me to drink or do anything.�
The headed their way into �the sleeping cat� and chic and modern caf� near the campus.
�Jen!� a guy called out her from the middle of a group of about 8 ppl.
�Alex, hey wassup? Got room for about 3 ppl?�
�honey we�ve alwys got room for you� he leered jokingly at her�.
�very funny, guys listen up I want to introduce you to some new friends,
jules and jess, these crazy ppl are Alex, Jack, Cameron, Alana, Court and Cindy. These are ppl I made friends with in my 1st year real true good friends. Now ya�ll I want you to treat these girls right, Missy ranged on them during practice, let�s lift some spirits.�
Jess and jules sat down next to jen and Jack.
Conversations started and so did thousands of questions as this group of ppl tried to get to know eachother and feel eachother out.
