Sometimes, after a healing, a healing release may occur. These are emotions coming to the surface in order to be dealt with and subsequently released. Often they are emotions that have been deeply buried because we found them difficult to deal with in the first place. We did not wish to face them or sift through them as they were simply too painful. This is why we often bury our emotions and feelings - because they are too painful to deal with at the time - they bring up issues or belong to issues that are hurtful. The feelings remind us that there are problems or issues which we have not faced, so we think that if we bury them and forget them, the issue or problem that caused them will go away. This is not true. If you bury these things deep within (and the more painful they are , the deeper we tend to bury them) they sit within our body as energy. If we leave this negative type of energy sitting within the physical body, it will eventually manifest on a physical level as well. Some cancers are an example of when someone has buried something deep within and this feeling has literally eaten away at them and become a physical disease. The expression time is a great healer is only true if you have faced your demons or problems and the emotions that go with them. If you do not bury them, but keep them on the surface and feel them through, then with the passing of time they lessen until eventually they do not hurt at all or at best they may give us a twinge. Osho, in his teachings, encouraged people to feel ie. he encouraged living each moment in the moment which in turn leads to feeling each emotion that you have right through till its conclusion. An accepted therapy both in modern medical and alternative approaches is to accept a feeling in, feel it in its entirety, place all your energy into it so that it may even magnify it, and play out all the little scenarios that go with it in your mind. After a while of doing this you will notice that you are not putting your whole self into it, that it is becomming a little tired and you would rather do something else that has captured your attention. This is the start of letting it go. There are all sorts of other ways to release such as screaming into your pillow, belting your pillow, finding a place where you are physically alone and screaming and yelling and releasing your feelings out loud. If we scream inside without making any noises outwardly, we are again internailzing which is what we are trying to avoid. Some people do physical activity to release such as running, riding, swimming, walking - even housework done on its own can release buried feelings. Music is a wonderful way to release and I have often boogied round the house to release. Others watch sad movies so that they can bring up those feelings they have buried to have a good cry. Sometimes a good heart to heart with someone you trust and feel safe in sharing these emotions helps, or even a stranger on the bus or therapist of some sort. We have all experienced sitting on a bus next to someone who gives you their life story!!! Yet others release by being grumpy or touchy. They may be irritable and snappy. If you understand where this is comming from, allow it but try not to vent it on others. Rememeber, that these are your issues, your feelings and they do not get better by projecting them onto others. If you have been having sessions with a healer you may release during a healing or while you are lying there afterwards in the quiet and the peace. This allows a gentle, non threatening space in which to release. You may find that the feelings you have buried, rise within the body and you will actually feel them come up through your heart and throat. They may ache, even hurt on there way up, but the important thing is not to swallow them back down again or hold your breath because this stops their progress out of the body. These emotions may make you cry, sob, laugh...etc all of which are healthy reactions. Why? - because they release this negative energy which has been stored in the body. Negative energy which is stored in the body over a long period of time interupts the natural energy flow which causes an area to be susceptible to disease. The important thing to remember is not to be embarrassed. If you are having work done with a healer you must remember that that is the healers job - to help you release any negative energy and to heal it so that you can become healthy and whole again. A good healer will support your release and will understand what is happening and will help you understand it too. A healing release is a major step forward in your personal healing for it allows the flow of energy through your body to be unblocked and free. This is vital in order for you to be healthy and balanced. Sometimes, after a healing you may feel a little off for a few days, perhaps a bit weepy....teary.....or sad... This is also a natural part of the releasing progess. Let the tears flow unhindered for they are healing tears. Be gentle and loving with yourself and allow those around you who love you, to be gentle and loving towards you too. You may not know what it is that you are releasing but this does not necessarily matter. After a few days you will start to feel better, then lighter because negative energy feels heavy. Once you release it you will feel lighter - after all, we are all beings of light who are doing our best on the earth plane and energy on the earth plane is heavier than where we come from. ************* Click here to Return to Index......... |
