HOME
Huge changes this last year and a half.  We finally received our settlement from that accident we were in.  We used the money to go on vacation to San Diego to visit Mark's sister, Monica; buy a furniture set; pay off a couple of bills; and, oh yeah, BUY A HOUSE!!! We moved into our new home at the end of July.  We are still in Spokane.  We bought a 2900 square feet, 4-bedroom, 3-bath, brick  rancher with a daylight basement.  We love this house.   We are in a nice quiet neighborhood.  Kiaya is in the same school she was in before we moved and she has friends who live across the street on either side of us.  Our yard is beautiful and we are spoiled with a sprinkler system.  I can truly say that we feel extremely blessed.  I should also mention another gigantic blessing, we are going to have our 3rd little girl soon.  I am due December 27th, 2003.  We were hoping for a little boy, but obviously this little girl wanted two sisters very badly and chose us to be her family.
Still loves his job at Juvenile Detention, where he is a field training officer. He still works an odd schedule, Wed - Sat from 1pm to 11pm. He is so patient and strong showing a ton of patience with me, which is a miracle in itself. He supports me emotionally, financially, and physically.  Now that we have this new house and fabulous yard, Mark has his hands full. He is very happy with our new home.  He is feeling a little out numbered as the only male in the family, especially  with the number of girls increasing.  He said he just knew it was another girl...maybe he should start playing the lottery, we could get lucky!
I am working again. I got a job in August of 2002 at an HMO, Group Health Cooperative (much like Kaiser Permanente). I am a triage nurse there, working scheduled on call during the week days.  This works great for me because I can pick an choose my schedule. I have been having issues with this pregnancy, haven't been feeling well at all. I have been medicated for various infections and continue with my morning (all-day) sickness. I am actually on a pill for nausea usually used for chemotherapy patients...this is the only thing that has worked. The baby continues to choose the most uncomfortable positions possible for mom and is VERY active.  We have been tossing around names and think we will most likely go with Reaghan. Middle name is still up in the air. I am contracting a lot, maybe I will get lucky and have to go on partial bed rest....I could use a break from work.
Ok, this girl is complicated. MOODY MOODY MOODY. Ten going on 18. Kiaya is in 5th grade; in beginning band, playing the saxaphone; in dance again (hip-hop) and loving our new home. Sadly she is just as much a messy child as she was in the old house. The promise of keeping her room clean was never fulfilled. Still as sassy as ever, the pessimist in me has come to the conclusion that this is probably not just a phase. The optimist is sure that she will blossom into a respectful young lady, who is regretful for her naughty behavior. I do have to give the girl some credit, her behavior has improved since the move.  I think we were all a little depressed while living  the old residence. Kiaya enjoys being on a quiet street so she can ride her bike all over and hang out with friends. She has never had such this luxury. Kiaya is helpful, sometimes reluctantly, with care for Peyton and me. She doesn't always like to help out but she is pretty aware of how I have been feeling and in the long run wants to make things easier for me. Kiaya has a sensitive heart and is truly a sweet natured girl. I am blessed that she is polite and helpful to others. I have always thought it best that children are well behaved out side of the home and more obnoxious at home than the other way around.
This is a force to be reckoned with.  Between the deafening screams, angelic face, and fierce attitude it is hard to know how to take this one on.  Peyton is very funny and keeps us in stitches for sure.  She is embarrassingly aware of body parts and isn't afraid to talk about it in public...infact she waits for that time to do so.   When she decides to indulge in such conversation, Kiaya will walk away to not get embarrassed while mom gets to stay with the cutie pie and cringe in humiliation.  At 38 pounds, Peyton has bulked up finally.  She was quite a little waife for sometime.  She will be 3 years old on November 11 but still balks over potty training.  I am ready to proclaim her the winner, as I have already nearly pulled my hair out over the potty training bit.  She says she likes messing and wetting her pants and doesn't like the toilet.  She does go on the toilet only on her terms.  Can anyone say....POWER TRIP!!!!.  She has put in birthday present orders already....the kid has expensive taste, she wants a playhouse for the back yard.  We may just have to use this gift as a weapon for potty training.   Underneath the stubborn exterier, Peyton  has a sweet spirit, she has decided that whenever she gets a kids meal at McDonalds or Burger King she will get a toddler toy for her baby sister instead of one for herself.  I thought that was pretty selfless of her since I had brought it up to my 10 year old who was offended at the thought.  Peyton is very excited for her baby sister to come.  She really wanted a baby brother but seems fine with another girl.  She often talks to my belly and says, "Its your big sister, hurry up and come out!"   Peyton still has unusual eye color, depending on clothing and mood they range from blue, grey, to green.  Peyton is taking gymnastics again this year; the only difference is that this time she is in class without a parent being in it with her.  She loves gym and her teacher Ms. Dana.
