A CG short film by Leo Tierney
This short film was made for my Media course which recieved the grade of B/C, which is rather nice...shame it didn't get an A though. This video took 2 months to make, that includes making models, texturing, rigging them so they can move, animating the scenes and last but definitely not least rendering. Almost the entire 2 months was taken up by rendering, one scene in particular had roughly 145 frames and on my age-old computer it took an hour a frame. After some tinkering by removing little bits and cheating, I was able to cut most of the frame times down to about 15-20 minutes a frame.
Computers Specifications at time of making short video - Pentium 4 1.7Ghz 256mb RAM Geforce3 Ti200 120Gb External Hard Drive 20Gb Internal Hard Drive If your planning on making a Computer-Generated film similar to mine or completely different and you have roughly the same specs as mine then I really do suggest you upgrade first before attempting to do anything. It is feasible to make a CG short of those specs (I did) but it would be a weight of your shoulders and mind if you upgrade. After completing this short I had some money to upgrade my computer from 256Mb RAM to 1Gb RAM.
If you would like to know how I did some of the things in this video then heres my answer to people who have no idea about visual effects... Magic. To people who know what there doing then you shouldnt be asking, but I did use the tutorials at Lightwave Tutorials quite a lot so go take a look there for some Lightwave tutorials. Anyway, thank you for your time and I hope you enjoyed my very first Computer Generated film.
At long last, courtesy of Youtube.com, I can now show you Leo Tierney's first ever CG short film entitled.... Knights Adventure
