Gordon Downie and the Country of Miracles put on a spirited, if too short, performance on the first Sunday of the 'fest. He played only solo stuff, none of which I had heard live before, along with a Bob Dylan cover that he pulled off fantastically well!

He sat down for the duration of the show, so he wasn't his usual dynamic self, but lyrically his eccentric nature was front and centre! I loved the material, and the new band (the Country of Miracles) sound a lot looser and more comfortable than the Hip do these days.
^ The man of the hour takes the stage.
I could've made Chancellor without you on my mind
I'm here because you're here
And when you leave, I'm going too.
Are they dead, or worse, alive?
Is there something that you're trying to hide?
If you gotta go, go now - or else you gotta stay all night.
