She had a wonderful black foal w/ a star & a HUGE will to live, after giving her all to have him. She expelled her uterus right after foaling & had to be put down. I am absolutely heartbroken It's been a rough year. I have heard of two other mares going through the same thing at other ranches near me:-( (maybe the drought?) At this writing her orphan is an amazing fellow, & hanging in there. Also her 2007 foal (Concho Dial Me) won his second out! Against a 3 year old too! What bittersweet happiness & sorrow all at once... |
