Game Day, Game 13:  Lightning v. Katz

 

Lucky 13!  There we were … back on the ice after a

17 day break!  So, what happened while we were away?

Liz is still injured. Calvin turned 30, yes 30, can you

believe it?  Dickie went on vacation to Mexico.  Marlene

did rehab on her ankle. Midder went out with her imaginary

boyfriend.  Wilke played floor hockey and was so sore.  Linda

hasn’t found a new place yet.  Leanna washed her neck guard

twice and still has a goop stain.  Kobi I don’t know.  Lori hurt

her hand really badly but made a miraculous recovery.  Sue L.

missed us.  Maija played tons of hockey with her Killarney

Icebreakers team.  Sue played goal in a men’s league somewhere.

What happened on the ice?  Well, it was an interesting start

with penalties called on both teams at the beginning for not wearing

their helmet straps properly, and those were the only penalties

all game.  A couple of nice goals from passing, shots and rebounds,

a howlitzer and a highlight reel deke by Calvin, a roofer by Maija,

and Midder’s first goal of the season slipped deftly under

the goalie in a brilliant three-way passing play.  Oh, and the other team

scored on a breakaway with less than two minutes to go, and that was

all Calvin’s fault according to Sieve.  Aren’t the Canucks retro jerseys

awesome … if someone wins the lotto, buy us those ones for our new

uniforms J. It was great to see everyone again, and best of all, we

play already again on Wednesday, December 10, 2003 at 7:45pm.
