| The Matrix: Revolutions |
| November 9th, 2003. Today is my birthday. I went to see The Matrix: Revolutions with Ryan. I do say, it kicked ass. Of the Matrix trilogy, this was the best. It was just like the Star Wars trilogy. The first was great, the second was so-so, the final one was the best. WARNING: THE FOLLOWING CONTAINS SPOILERS It starts out with Neo and Bane in the Nebuchadnezzar on tables, immediately where the last one left off. In the meantime, Neo is in a train station run by the Train Man, which is the place between the real world and the Matrix. Long story short, Trinity, Morpheus, and that chinesse dude from the second one go to find the Frenchman to get Neo. They had to fight there way through a bunch of people in the process, however. The entire beginning is nonstop fight scenes. That one where the guys were on the ceiling, that was just plain cool. They get Neo out. He has a talk with the Oracle who tells him that on that night the war will end when he fights Smith, the real enemy. For those of you who haven't seen The Matrix: Reloaded yet, Smith is no longer an Agent. She also explains to him about his powers. Again, for those of you who haven't seen the second, Neo uses his powers outside of the Matrix to destroy a few setinals. I really had no purpose explaining that, other than so you would know why he and Trinity take Niobe's ship to the surface. Bane wakes up and kills the medic, then sneaks on board. For those of you who don't know, Bane was in the Matrix and posessed by Smith, therefor Smith controls him outside of the Matrix as well. He gets into an awesome fight with Neo on board the ship. This fight was good, except for the fact that IT FLASHED WAY TOO MUCH. If you have epilepsy I'd recommend you cloe your eyes and soon as Trinity descends the latter to fix the fuse. I didn't really understand Neo's sudden 'radar sense' either. When he could see everything in orange after Bane torched his eyes. That was just like Daredevil's radar sense. I didn't care much for the battle between the Zions and the Sentinals. There was too much of that. I do say though, I absolutely loved the end fight between Smith and Neo. It was something right out of a comic book. Or an anime. That just kicked ass. There was a moment when I actually thought Smith had won, too. If anyone can understand what it was exactly that made all the Smiths blow up, please tell me. I didn't get that. Could somebody also clarify if Neo is dead or not? I did like the resolution. Don't read this paragraph, it spoils the ending. Neo confronts the machines at the end and makes a deal with them. If he kills Smith, they have to stop the war. He of course succeeds, and the sentinals make peace with the humans. The last scene has the Oracle conversing with the Architect. From what I got, I guess they are going to release all the humans who want to be released and keep the ones who wish to stay in the Matrix. So this was a good movie. I'd recommend it for any action fan. It has way more action than the other two. I love it. Even if you don't like the other ones, you may like this one. Go check it out. My Rating: 4.5/5 Pretty Freaking Good |
