| Somebody Ought to Hunt YOU-Thursday, October 16th, 2003 So I am (FINALLY!!!!) getting my small game license. My uncle knows and instructor, so I'm getting a private course. I drove up to his house last night and we started reviewing things. Among the things he showed me were these small booklets with injury reports. I do say, some of the things in here are incredibly stupid. I borrowed a couple from him, let me show a couple of them to you. The victim (16 years of age) was sitting on a branch of pine tree leaning against the trunk. A friend huntingwith him, also 16 years of age, approached from the side of the tree opposite the victime and saw the victim's elbow appear several times from behind the tree trunk. The shooter thought what he was a crow and fired his .22 caliber rifle (open sights) striking the victim in the right elbow (about 35 yards away). Both victim and shooter wore camouflage hats, coats, and pants. HOW DO YOU FUCK THAT UP? You see something moving behind tree. It just keeps bobbing in and out. IT'S NOT A CROW. I see crows all the time, they don't do that. Granted, it was at 35 yards with an open sight rifle, so vision wasn't perfect, but you should still be able to tell the difference between a crow and a damned person. The shooter and victim (unknown to each other) were lying in the grass hunting woodchucks. Shooter stated that he had walked past the victim when he went to his hunting spot, but did not see him. The victim saw the shooter but thought there was a safe distance between them. The shooter fired his .22 caliber rifle once at a woodchuck. He immediately saw the victime stand up (about 150 yards away) and holler for help. The bullet had ricocheted uphill and struck the victim in the left arm and chest. The shooter wore a blue hat, shirt and pants while the victim wore no hat, blue shirt and pants. According to this, the bullet ricocheted uphill. RICOCHETED OFF WHAT? THE FUCKING WOODCHUCK? My reason for posting this is to show that they should be more specific. They should specify what the bullet ricocheted off of. Thre was another one I was going to post too, but I can't find it in the book. Somebody in the military, on a leave of absence was hunting and accidentally shot himself. That makes me worry about her well our military really is trained. If somebody can shoot themself in the leg with a .22 how can they handle an M16? Seriously people. If you endanger the people around you, don't go hunting. How would you like it if somebody ran up to you and shot you through the leg? You wouldn't. So take the extra few minutes to make sure everything is safe. And don't shoot anybody. Note: Everything expressed here is my opinion only. It should NOT be taken seriously. Reproduction and/or distribution of this, as well as everything else on this site, without permission from me makes you an asshole. |
