Digimon: Digital Monsters may seem like the kind of show that you have to watch from the premire until the current point to understand, but really... it.. is... sorta.
It all starts when seven kids, Taichi "TAI" Kamiya (or Yagami), Sora Takenouchi, Yamato "MATT" Ishida, Koushiro "IZZY" Izumi, Mimi Tachikawa, Joe Kido, and Takeru "T.K." Takaishi all go to summer camp one summer. This summer had been unusual--in different parts of the world, there had been horrible droughts and in others, there were awful floods with water the color of chocolate milk (and I'm getting this straight from ep. one.)
The kids were minding their own business, when it started to snow. In summer! This is July, we're talking! As soon as the snowstorm blew over, the kids came outside, only to be greeted by these strange digital devices we all know as.... Digivices.......
And that's when it REALLY started. Thrown violently into another world, the seven kids learn how to believe in themselves, each other, and mostly, their powers as individual people.
They spend a long amount of time in the digital world, and during this time they find out that there is an eighth one of them. Eventually they head back home to find this child, before the evil Digimon Myotismon does, and they do... it happens to be Tai's younger sister, Hikari "KARI" Kamiya (or Yagami, you know the deal.) With this new addition to the DigiDestined, they defeat Myotismon, head back to the Digiworld and continue to defeat evil Digimon, their last being Apocalymon.
So we know Digimon's all about those monsters who grow and learn new powers. But it's so much more than that. Digimon has characters with realistic personalities, realistic lifestyles, families, problems and the such. I mean, I KNOW some people who are kind of like the characters on Digimon! In conclusion, if you're looking for a good show, don't miss Digimon: Digital Monsters.
