Digimon: Tamers

This was originally written around when Tamers first premiered, so I didn't know very much (especially after I stopped watching.) I still don't know much, but I guess this will work for now.

Okay.Rather obvious differences. For example, this season changes the entire concept of DigiDestined, Digimon, and Digivolutions as we saw it in the earlier seasons. For one, Digivolving is now more of something that is done not something that happens on its own. After all that I've seen, digivolving is not caused by the natural traits and powers of the DigiDestined child, that would give the Digimon strength, but by an action that the DigiDestined child does (in this case, I believe it involves the cards.) The same goes for attacks. Attacks have to be loaded, and can be changed in order to modify the Digimon depending on who it's battling. That's pretty cool. Now in the case of the DigiDestined, they aren't really chosen to actually protect two worlds... well, they are, but they don't exactly save anyone. They just battle-- okay look, I'll figure this out a little later in the series. Anyway, I'm noticing a pattern in the character design in all the leaders. *smile* Takato looks an awful lot like Taichi Yagami. Not too much like Daisuke, but a whole lot like Tai. I often wonder why the goggles are a trait that are used over and over. Maybe that's just a fun thing, but anyway, *sigh* I'm getting nostalgic, so I'd better continue quickly. Ruki has a bad attitude, I don't know what's up with her, but she's a very talented tamer. And Ree has no resemblance to any DigiDestined that we've seen, at least as far as I've seen. 1
