Everyone in the group serves in the capacity of a volunteer. No monetary compensation will be allowed. Decisions made by the Board are final. However, the Board of Directors may decide to open up decisions to the members at large through a vote. The topic to be voted on and the location of the vote will be announced no later than 7 days from the time the vote is to take place. The Board of Directors also makes and has the right to ammend the conduct codes and the by-laws during the yearly review occuring every January 1. The Board of Directors are responsible for reporting to the members all new decisions made that will affect the group at monthly meetings. They must also inform the group of the monthly financial status of the group. The vice president shall also serve in the role of president upon the president's absence. The vice president shall fill the role of treasurer at all times as the Board handles all aspects of finances. Event & Administrative Coordinators: When a position becomes vacant, a member needs to volunteer. In the event that two or more people volunteer for the same position, the Board of Directors may choose to hold an election in which the members vote for the person that they most want to fill the position. If no one volunteers to organize a particular activity, that activity may be cancelled. You may organize your own idea, as approved by the Board of Directors, or you may volunteer for an established open position. Secretary- update the listserver when new registrations are approved and drop members that have left the group, establish and maintain the directory, to include name, addresses (e-mail and physical as well as p.o. box), phone number, e-mail, children's names and birthdates. Ensure that the directory is not used for any soliciting purposes. Distribute hardcopies of documents or announcements at cost to those desiring that format. Serve as co-moderator on the e-mail loop, approving memberships and reporting any inappropriate content to the Board. Make and distribute/collect membership badges at L.I.G.H.T. events. Writes & sends thank-you notes on behalf of the group after the group attends field trips or other invitations to an activity. Reports to board when supplies are running low. Community Service Coordinator- oversees, plans, and coordinates opportunities for the group to participate in community service and outreach. Forms committees if necessary. Consults with the class teachers to see if they need any supplies and informs the board of supplies needed. The co-op coordinator oversees clean-up of the facility and reports any improper conduct to the board. The coordinator will distribute supplies. Will announce to all classes at the end of each session that it is time to change classes. May form new classes with approval of the board. Recruits volunteer committees as needed.
