Epilogue

Doug Weston. Passed away in 1999 leaving a hell of a hole in the world. He was a rare one.

Dean Fredricks. I lost contact with Dean, His movie "The Phantom Planet" is available on the web. It's really wild. I don't know if any tapes of "Steve Canyon" are in existence.

  J
oe Koistra. Joe lives in Carson City Nevada and is more or less retired. He and his family are inveterate volunteers and devote much of their time to helping out others. His heart is as big as himself. Huge!

Mike Whelan. Mike went on for a few years with the New Christie Minstrels. Later he quit and expatriated himself to the Isle of Capri and Corsica in the Mediterranean. He lived there for many years playing and singing in coffee houses. I saw him briefly in the early eighties, he had returned and was thinking of going back to Europe for a few more years.

Tony Mafia. Tony continued his singing and did a bit of  TV episodic acting, but concentrated on painting more so. His work, sort of an impressionist, abstract is little known but in some circles he has cult status. He passed away some years ago in Belgium and is survived by his widow.

Niles Brown. Lost Contact with him but heard he has done a bit of acting.

Harvey Gerst. I lost contact with him Rumor has it that he lives in Dallas.

Steve Cohen I lost contact with. Last time I saw him, he was selling waterbeds in Reseda. I bought one from him.

Steve Stapenhorst. I recently had a long talk with Steve. He continued and continues to be a folk club player, sometimes as a solo, sometimes with his sister, Ellen who has a few CD's out. Steve however changed careers and became an actor. He did a lot of Broadway then moved back to LA to do movies and TV. He has a list of commercials, TV, and movies a foot long. He also has two new babies, and is as happy as a man can be.

Sanny Delano. Sanny was from the San Francisco area. He finally settled in Watsonville with his wife Claire and two beautiful daughters. One day he went sailing off the blue California coast with several friends. He, nor his friends, nor any part on the boat ever was found.

                                                                              For Sanny

Sail on old friend and God bless you. Oh, look for a guy whose name used to be Richard Thompson. You can't get a better crewmate, also save a birth for me.  God, what oceans you must be sailing now.
