Peter Zachari (actor/playwright) was last seen as Prism in "The Importance of Being Earnest" for the 1998 Fringe Festival at the Red Room.  Before that he appeared as Lou in "1940's Radio Hour" at the Emelin Theater in Westchester and "Happy Hour" at the Producer's Club.  Peter also performed in a stage reading of "Street Scene" at the York Theater with the graduates of the Julliard School.  Born in Salem, Massachusetts, Peter unexpectedly started his acting career when a friend secretly signed him to sing at an audition that he was watching in the back of the theatre in his High School.  Through the power of peer pressure, he reluctantly sang the title song of "Cabaret," and was miraculously given a solo in the show.  The acting bug permanently cocooned itself, and Peter had never turned back.  He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting at Salem State College, performing in such plays as "The Dining Room" (Second Actor), "Lonestar" (Cletis), "Little Shop of Horrors" (Mushnik) and "Ghosts" (Pastor Manders).  He would later return to his undergraduate family years later to perform in "Mary, Mary" (Bob) with his friend Heather Roberts, who is also director and actor in "Lighten Up!"  Craving sunshine, Peter moved to Florida, where he attended and received his Master of Fine Arts in Acting from the University of Florida.  Peter appeared at Gainesville's prestigious Center for the Performing Arts as Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof" and Herr Schultz in "Cabaret" (there's that show again!)  He also appeared in "Company" (David), "Stageblood" (Carlton Sr.), "As You Like It" (Adam), "Godspell" (John/Judas), "Philadelphia, Here I Come!" (Con), "The Rainmaker" (Sheriff), and "Marat/Sade" (Herald).  An internship at the Hippodrome State Theatre would launch Peter's professional career, where he landed the role of Matamore in "The Illusion."  He spent a year and a half at the Hippodrome, performing in productions of "All in the Timing," (Various), "Laughter on the 23rd Floor" (Ira), "A Christmas Carol" (Present/Fezziwig), and "4 R Planet," an environmental play touring elementary schools in Alachua county, Florida.  He takes much pride in his one-season stint working at Dollywood, where he appeared in a roving improv troupe, entertaining (and probably terrorizing) visitors, trying to be discovered by the Dollywood Talent Scout.  Peter has also appeared at the Lincoln Amphitheatre in their productions of "Big River" (King) and "Young Abe Lincoln" (Politician),  He produced and starred in a production of "Greater Tuna" at the Acrosstown Repretory Theatre in Florida.  His most memorable role, though, is one that few may know about.  For six years Peter worked at Chuck E. Cheese.  Now it can be told that Peter was once Chuck E. himself, tail and all.  He shares this honor with Heather Roberts, who also donned the skin of the famed rodent.  So, Heather, let's do this one for the rat!  Peter sends many thanks to his entire family, who inspire him to continue taking this wonderfully crazy journey in the theater.

As Tevye in "Fiddler on the Roof"

With Heather Roberts in "Mary, Mary"

Actor Peter Zachari makes the absolute most of his large and graceful body...a delightful reminder that comedy is rooted in the body, and we remember with a chuckle the genius of physical magicians like Oliver Hardy and Jackie Gleason"

Funny and successful in playing multiple roles, spoken and acted with marionette percision by Zachari... All in the Timing comes off with spellbinding theatricality.
