Jill Balch is an actress and teacher. She is thrilled to be a part of this cast and to work with Aruru Theatre Company. These four people are her best friends whom she has grown with over the last seven year of her life. Jill moved to New York City one year ago to continue her growth after working in Birmingham, Alabama for two years in various education roles: an education director for a youth theatre, a teacher at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and at Birmingham-Southern College, and last but not least, a "creative movement" teacher for teeny weeny ones at the Children's Dance Foundation. Jill loves the opportunity to combine her love of teaching with her love of acting and boogying!
Currently, Jill is a teaching artist for ENACT in the New York Public School System. She holds a Master of Fine Arts in Acting from the University of Florida and a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and English from Birmingham-Southern College in Birmingham, Alabama. Of course, her most favorite roles have been the ones playing opposite Peter Zachari as Yente in Fiddler on the Roof, Fraulein Schneider in Cabaret and Angel #4 in Lighten Up! Other favorite roles include Olivia in Twelfth Night, Bernadette in Raised in Captivity, Catherine in A View From The Bridge and Joanne in Vanities.
She loves her life with her curly-headed husband of two years, Murray Coon. |
