Elisabeth Braddock aka Psylocke was one of the second wave of X-men after the original Golden 5. Twin of Captain Britain of Former Excaliber, she was a powerful telepath who changed bodies with the assassin Kwannon at some point to become the Aisan looking Brit chick who lost none of her mouth with her change of face.
She had purple hair even in the old days but her costume became more and more revealing as she body swapped.
Betsy wielded a Psy-knife up until the turn of the X-books in the Revolution series when it developed into a Katana.
A former model and Spy, Betsy was trained in the Uk for combat and trained in Madripoor among other places in the martial arts-she accompanied Wolverine and Jubilee on some of their earlier exploits in Madripoor and was among one of the women brainwashed by Viper to get to Wolverine himself.
Betsy met her demise under the ranks of the Xtreme X-men to a foe who had floored both Rogue and Beast before she stepped in. At the time, she was dating Neil Shaara and the 2 were very in love. Most,however will know her as being involved with Warren Worthington aka Angel and it was with Betsy that Warren learned true love instead of just playboy flings although he only recently realised this in his greif for Betsy.
She will be a much missed character. |
