Yellow Daisy

For this piece a 10 1/2" plate was used.
The colors used for the flower were
Yellow for Reds, Yellow Brown, Yellow Red, Ochra, Rich Brown, Chartreuse and Black Green.
The colors used for the background were Celadon, Holly Green and Black Green.

1st Firing
The flower was painted first, starting with the
Yellow for Reds, followed by the darker shades for the shadows in the petals, using Yellow Brown, Ochra and Yellow Red.
The centre of the flower was done with Chartreuse and a touch of Black Green.
Leave plenty of highlights on the petals.
Fire to cone 016

2nd Firing
Apply
Resist to cover the flower and Ground the background with Celadon.
Remove the Resist and carefully paint the flower using the same colors used
at the 1st firing.

3rd Firing
The background was done using all the shades of green, and some brush strokes were used to give the illusion of more petals in the background.
The flower continued to be painted with the darker colors, to give it depth.

4th Firing
The process of the 3rd firing was repeated, with all the shades of green being added in the background.

5th Firing
Shade the centre of the flower, the tips of the petals and were needed with
Rich Brown. The plate rim was done with Silver.
