Horsa Bridge today

This view from Horsa Bridge shows the banks of the River Orne, where the guns of 92nd (Loyals) LAA Regiment were dug in to defend the bridge after arriving on D-Day.
The regiment's self-propelled Bofors Guns were in action for nine days, shooting down 17 German planes which tried to destroy Horsa Bridge and nearby Pegasus Bridge.
Today, things are much more peaceful  - look closely at the left of the picture and you will see someone fishing.
Right: Although Horsa Bridge is not as famous as Pegasus Bridge, it does have its own memorial and is not forgotten by the veterans' organisations.
