Pegasus Bridge and Horsa Bridge
This superb aerial shot of Pegasus Bridge over the Caen Canal (right) - before its 1994 replacement - and Horsa Bridge over the River Orne (left) - was taken by Jack Prior during a visit to Normandy.
The picture gives an excellent idea of the landscape and conditions that were encountered by those who fought there in June 1944. Today, the area is much more built up and developed.
