The Antagonists

Translation: All the characters who are not affiliated with the homunculi or military but still get in the protagonists' way.

Father Cornello
First Appearence: Chapter 1
Species: Human
Special Qualities: Using the fake Philosopher's stone on his ring, he can do transmutations without a circle, ignoring the laws.

Cornello is the resident minister in Lior. Representative of the Sun God Leto, he appears to perform miracles using his ring. Of course, his real intentions are much more than helping a small desert town - he's looking for believers that will blindly follow him no matter what happens.

Scar
First Appearence: Chapter 5
Species: Human
Special Qualities: His right arm is covered in special markings that allow him to do alchemy without a transmutation circle. This type of alchemy is also not affected by "Father's" ability to cancel out alchemy.

Most of Scar's origins are unknown. No one even knows his real name - he gave it up a long time ago, he says, when he accepted his call to wipe out State Alchemists. However, he is an Ishballan who feels that it is his duty to wipe out as many State Alchemists as possible, regardless of whether they took part in the Ishbal war that slaughtered so many of his kinsmen or not.

#48
Also Known As: The Slicer (Brothers)
First Appearence: Chapter 11
Species: Previously human, now a suit of armor

Previously a pair of serial killers (and brothers, for that matter) on death row, the Slicers' souls were sealed by State Alchemists in a suit of armor - the elder one in the helmet, and the younger one in the rest of it. Regardless of how hardened the two of them may be, they appear to care at least somewhat for each other's well being.

#66
Also Known As: Barry the Chopper
First Appearence: Chapter 11
Species: Previously human, now a suit of armor

Previously a butcher who got a taste for chopping up the flesh of young women and became a serial killer, Barry the Chopper was sentenced to death several years ago. However, instead of actually killing him, the State Alchemists at Lab 5 sealed his soul into a suit of armor. Now he guards the Fifth Laboratory from those who might want to learn its secrets. His level of sanity is questionable, although he seems slightly infatuated with Riza Hawkeye...

The Truth Guy
First Appearence: Chapter 23
Species: Unknown

Ah yes, the Truth Guy, as he is affectionately called */sarcasm*. He is the guardian of the Gate of Truth, where he opens the doors for thse who dare to enter - for a price. Usually, said price is a limb, an organ, or in some cases, a whole body. But he can be persuaded to allow the gate to open due to the usage of a Philosopher's Stone as well...

The Chimeras Aligned with Greed
When you're a human experiment, you'll die if you stay in the lab. So, several of the chimeras created by the State (that survived, of course) escaped and now currently reside in the pub known as the "Devil's Nest".

Being the seventeenth princess of Xing is a heavy responsibility, especially when failing to gain the throne would cause the small Chang clan to probably die out within a generation. That is why Mei Chang seeks the secret to immortality, just like Ling. When she first hears about Edward, she thinks he is her wonderful, polite, sparkling, *tall*, knight-in-shining-armor. When she finds out the truth, she's kind of disappointed...

Xiao Mei
First Appearence: Chapter 32
Species: Panda (although everyone seems to think it's a cat)

Xiao Mei is a panda who never grew to full size because of an illness it had when it was little. Mei Chang, however, took it in, and the two of them are now best friends - almost siblings, even. Of course, this particular panda also has quite sharp teeth...
