Chapter Six

It was three days since the visit to the circle and two days since Kain had locked himself in his room and completely ignored anyone who came to the door. The voluntary exclusion had left everyone puzzled until Vorador actually managed to get inside the room, Raziel and a few others had waited outside the doorway expectantly, trying unsubtly to eavesdrop but the voices were to muffled to hear through the dark wood. However after a moment there was a loud growl from the room followed by a crash and Vorador had been unceremoniously shoved out of the door, his nose bloody.

“So what’s wrong with him?” Raziel asked for the sixth time as Janos dapped at his child’s nose with a tissue before ‘accidentally’ dropping the tissue and having to lick the blood away.

“He has remembered . . . something and he needs time to sort it out,” Vorador managed when Janos drew back long enough to let him speak

“Why is that bad?” Magnus was lounging on a chair across the room a book in his lap, Sebastian stood behind him “other than slight confusion,” Magnus added “it is strange that his memory is all over the place instead of chronological.”

“Well his life wasn’t exactly chronological was it,” Raziel snapped glaring, Magnus shrugged but Sebastian glared back. Normally Sebastian’s backbone when it came to Raziel was non existent and he seemed almost frightened of the reaver spirit. However Sebastian miraculously developed a backbone when ever anyone went for Magnus.

“Plus father was never the most ‘stable’ person,” Melchiah said quietly trying to ignore the glare Raziel gave him

“Nupraptor position isn’t in him any more!” Raziel growled “none of the other circle has it any longer why should he!”

“Actually,” Vorador sighed getting everyone’s attention back, “its none of those, he’s remembered why he was fighting in Meridian,” Sebastian coughed suddenly and wobbled on his feet “don’t worry,” Vorador flinched suddenly as Janos moved his broken nose back into place so it would heal straight “he’s not coming after you,”

“You mean he’s not angry?” Sebastian asked, Vorador snorted then winced again

“Tell that to my nose,” he muttered “but no he’s not angry at you, he’s just . . . confused.”

“But he was raging before, he killed me,” Sebastian swallowed Vorador seemed impatient

“Yes well last time he didn’t remember the guilt he felt after killing you, he didn’t remember the Serefan Lords words to him . . . the world looks different when you can see it from the past and the future.” He looked to Raziel “just give him another day or so and he’ll straighten it out,”

“Yes well what about the meantime?” Raziel sighed and slumped back in his chair.

“We leave him,” Vorador answered “there’s nothing else we can do as I highly doubt he would accept help if we offered it.” He tried to smile comfortingly at Raziel when the fledgling looked even worse then before “He’ll be fine,” Vorador urged

“Um . . . yeah,” Raziel breathed “I’m . . . I’m going to get some air,” and with that he stood and marched out through the glass doors and round to the front courtyard. The fledgling had no idea where he would walk just that he needed to be out, if he remained in that place where he could practically taste his father on the air he knew he would only end up exacerbating the situation.

The air was cold and crisp, the snow still hard on the ground. Nosgoth would be frozen for the next few months until the thaw when the snow would turn to slush and become dangerous. When the snow was melting in the thaw the vampires tended to behave in a similar way to when the rainy season came; they remained indoors sleeping through most of it. A lot of vampires actually slipped into an evolutionary sleep during a rainy season or a thaw, the same way many animals slept through the winters. Raziel smirked half wishing evolutions hit every year instead of every few decades or so; however a crunch to his side made the fledgling jump and lose his thoughts. Glancing to the source of the sound he saw his father clambering gracefully from the hidden tunnel, Kain looked around making sure he was alone, unable to spot his childe as the fledgling was far down wind. When he believed himself to be alone Kain moved onward through the swamp and after a moment Raziel followed.

He followed his fathers boot prints in the snow until he could see him ahead; then he leapt upwards and followed through the treetops. Surprisingly Kain didn’t turn towards the villages when Raziel expected him to but instead turned further westward. Frowning Raziel continued to follow wondering to himself what Kain was doing, why would he leave the mansion if not to hunt; did he even remember his way around Nosgoth? Kain paused suddenly and sniffed the air, Raziel froze, knowing he’d made to much noise or not realised which way the wind was blowing or some other trivial thing that would give away his presence. Kain turned and looked right at him before sighing and moving onwards. Raziel knew that his father knew he was there but for some reason he wasn’t calling him out. This confused the reaver spirit and so wrapped up was he in his confusion that he failed to notice the second set of tracks on the other side of the briars.

They continued moving westward for half an hour and in the distance Raziel could see the pillars, it became obvious that that was were Kain was heading, although Raziel wasn’t sure why he would want to see the pillars. He paused, Kain was still a guardian, he was still the balance guardian. The aura that the guardians all held still hovered closely around him, the magic he used was still tied to the pillar unlike Arial and that generation of guardians Kain had not been robed of his guardianship, he made the eight ancient guardians into nine. Raziel nearly laughed wondering what the ancient guardians would think of that. No doubt the image conscious guardians would be worried that Kain didn’t match them, they’d paint him blue and glue paper wings to him. Raziel nearly sniggered aloud, that’s what they got for being more worried about image than power or their responsibilities as guardians.

A loud snap to the left alerted Raziel to the fact they were not alone Kain to must have heard it but he just kept walking; Raziel opened his mouth to shout but was a second to late. The great black creature leapt, Raziel saw his father spin and tense himself for the blow; he felt the air crackle with magic. Deep in his mind he knew the black daemon wouldn’t be a real problem for his father but the front of his mind was to busy screaming at him for him to realise this and before he’d formulated a plan of any sort he’d leapt. He collided heavily with the creature sending them both to the left missing his father and landing in a briar. A hand gripped his shirt collar and pulled hard, drawing him out of the briar and off the daemon which was also getting to its feet.

“Why are you following me?!” Kain demanded

However before Raziel could answer the daemon charged making both vampires leap to the sides to avoid being impaled on yellow horns. Raziel blinked as Kain moved forwards slashed the creature across the eyes with his claws and shifted into mist to avoid being clawed in return.

“Why do I not have my damn sword?” Kain muttered coming back into solid form next to his child, Raziel smiled before he could help himself and leapt again; glyph magic poured through him and fire erupted over the daemon as he struck it, bouncing backwards he smirked as the huge creature writhed. “Show off,” Kain muttered before several lines of white lightening fell from the sky straight onto the daemon, the creature exploded.

“I’m showing off?” Raziel answered, Kain just smirked

“I’ve fought these creatures before,” Kain stated plainly, Raziel nodded

“Yes you have, they shouldn’t be here any longer after what you . . . after the land was purified but for some reason they remain.” The reaver spirit shrugged “we do not know why or where they are coming from but we will soon.”

“Did you check Avernus?” Kain asked, Raziel blinked at him and Kain shrugged “don’t ask me where it is or why you should go there . . . it’s just a gut feeling.”

“You’re ‘gut’ feelings have saved us quiet a few times,” Raziel remarked “and no we have not checked Avernus, it’s rubble now, it was never rebuilt after the great fire.” Raziel swallowed “you’re heading to the pillars?” he asked Kain sighed

“Yes and as you’re here already you might as well come along, seeing as how you had to follow me.” Kain turned and continued heading west, the pillars were little than half an hour away. Raziel smiled knowing his father would have sent him back if he truly did not want to be with him, the gesture was not lost on the young vampire.

“You want to see the pillars?” Raziel asked although he knew the answer “there white now,” he mumbled. Swallowing he asked a question he’d wanted to ask since he’d given himself up to the blade. “How . . . how did you know that you would be able to fix the pillars?”

“That,” Kain smirked “was the easy part,” he looked towards the distant pillars for a moment before answering “when they were black and corrupted and when others touched them they were cold, hard and dead beneath their fingers but when I touched them I felt magic pulsing underneath the surface, the blackness would crumble away where my hand was and that tiny part would be whole and pure until I drew back. My magic could heal a tiny part of them for a few seconds just by touching them.”

“How did you know that it wasn’t just because you were the last guardian,” Raziel asked

“I didn’t know for sure,” Kain answered honestly “but I trusted myself, it was the only thing I have ever been sure about in my life, I could not be wrong.”

The woods grew thinner as they approached and Raziel found himself wondering just what Kain had meant when he said that restoring the pillars was the only thing he had ever been sure of in his life. His father had always seemed so sure about everything he did, so strong, but Raziel was quickly learning that this self confidence was mostly a mask put in place to hide a weakness. When the land had first been healed he’d spent much time with Vorador as well as Janos and Vorador had told him a great deal about his father when he was younger; it had shocked Raziel that Kain had so little faith in himself and even less in those around him. But Raziel liked to think he understood why. The pillars were loaming up in the distance now and Kain was smiling a strange sort of smile, one Raziel had rarely seen.

They entered the clearing that held the pillars and Raziel almost felt the tension and confusion melt away from his father. He remembered a long time ago Kain telling him that when he fed he gained clarity and never before had Raziel understood what he had meant but watching him now Raziel knew, certain things in this world made your problems melt away, made them insignificant and worthless gave you a clear head and gave you clarity. The pillars stood whole and pristine, great pillars of white Marble. Raziel wondered what it must be like to look at them and see living things rather than just stone, but his thoughts were interrupted as Kain stepped up onto the marble base and the symbols carved into the ground glowed with power, both Kain and Raziel froze, Raziel seemed panicked while Kain seemed relieved.

“Alright,” Raziel murmured “that’s never happened before,” Kain turned to him and smiled, it was an odd gesture to Raziel, he’d seen it to few times in the past. But it seemed to fit him better than the usual smirk or frown.

“This is what happened the first time I saw the pillars.” Kain smiled to him “I think I was nine, maybe ten, my father brought me up here to see them,” Kain laughed “poor man nearly had a breakdown when they responded to me. Pulled me back before I could touch them, took me home and told me to never tell anyone what had happened; after a while I just forgot it had happened.” he turned back from Raziel to the pillars “I admit when I found out I was the balance guardian I wasn’t as surprised as I should have been, I think subconsciously I already knew.”

“But,” Raziel stumbled over his words, blinded suddenly as Kain touched the balance pillar and the light from the symbols intensified, he watched as the light moved up into the pillar and down Kain’s arm into him. Kain stayed that way for a moment before drawing back. “That does not happen when the other guardian’s touch the pillars!” Raziel snapped as Kain walked back and sat on the edge of the marble base, the light dying down to a comfortable glow now. Kain sighed and looked confused again.

“I don’t know,” he breathed after a moment

“You don’t know what?” Raziel asked sitting next to him

“Anything, there is so much that I should know but I don’t,” he groaned and fell backwards lying on the marble base

“Like how you powered up the pillar,” Raziel turned to look at the balance pillar still faintly glowing, Kain smirked, Raziel paused and swallowed “or who I am or why you hate Sebastian?” Kain looked uncomfortable

“I don’t know,” Kain shrugged “I don’t even know that, I don’t remember anything; nothing solid only fragments, unrelated fragments and emotions. I remember killing Sebastian but I don’t really remember why, something to do with that fight in Meridian the one I lost; but I remember how angry I was when I struck him that last time and how at fault I felt after.”

“It’ll sort itself out.” Raziel mumbled, repeating Vorador’s words hoping they were true. It didn’t seem to be getting better though, the more time that passed the more confused Kain seemed to become.

“I don’t remember you,” Kain snapped suddenly “but . . .,”

“It doesn’t matter that you don’t remember me,” Raziel interrupted “it doesn’t matter,”

“I don’t remember you but I remember what I felt,” Kain breathed looking at his fledgling for a moment before looking away “there are fragments, images but more so than that I know how I feel around you and about you,” Raziel looked surprised, Kain looked confused and shook his head as if fed up

“Father?” Raziel breathed feeling pure unadulterated joy spread through his veins,

“It’s strange not knowing why I feel this attached to you, I can’t . . .” Kain started and before Raziel had really decided what to do he had suddenly wrapped his arms around his father and crashed their lips together in a bruising kiss. Desperate, needy and bruising, he smirked against Kain’s mouth feeling all his father’s frustration and anger pour into that single action; he felt the muscles along Kain’s back relax as the tension almost flew out of him and he deepened their kiss. But instead of fighting his child for dominacne like Raziel had expected, Kain drew his child into him. A hand moved to cradle Raziel’s head, clawed fingers buring themselves in black hair, claws tensing and untensing rhythmically. Raziel searched around his father’s mouth finding fangs and teasing them making his father purr. ‘Accidently’ cutting his tounge so blood filled the kiss, leaking out therough their joined lips. When he heard his father groan aginst him claws gripping his scalp painfully he let his hands fall down his fathers back setteling on his backside and pulling, almost forcefully hauling Kain into his lap and tightening his grip began grinding against him,

“Do you remember how to teleport?” Raziel gasped as Kain moved down to nip at his throat, he could teleport himself but never further than a stones throw and he’d never been able to move more than himself. He felt his father smile against his skin and then he was swallowed in light.

He’d run down to the pantry to grab a bottle or two or three.

Taking a deep breath Razeil pushed open the door, expecting to see his father waiting for him and that’s what he got but was surprised none the less to see that his father had already undressed and seated on the edge of the fur covered bed. While he almost purred aloud at the view it still shocked him how much more frgile his father was now that he was younger, it amazed him really that such a ‘slight’ looking creature could really have managed all Kain had done. But then again youth did have its advantages; walking forwards he dropped the bottle on a table and moved to his father suddenly crushing their mouths together again.

Years of lonliness and fear flew away with that one touch, lust and love ignited like a parifin soaked blazer inside of him and he felt like he was burning. It made him tremble to feel his father bend to his will, his father who had always been so dominant before, always in charge, on top was inviting him into his mouth onto his body. This would be a nice reversal. Then Kain pulled back and Raziel whined only to shiver as he felt him move lower.

He let out a small growl as his member threatened to stain his pants, at the thought of what Kain was offering as he moved lower and lower down his form. His mind raced as he thought for a way to keep his control when he felt like his bones had turned to noddles, submissive noddels that would quiet contentedly lie back and let his father do what he wanted. Unfortunately for Raziel, thoughts vanished as his father knelt before him. Kain absently rubbed his cheek against leather-clad thighs making his child swallow loudly; his whole body tensed as if in pain but this wasn’t pain yet at the same time it was. Dear god it had been so long since he’d been touched at all it was agony and this was Kain, Kain who he thought he had lost forever, Kain who he had gone through so much to now be with. His legs shivered and he nearly fell, feeling as if his heart would burst.

“Don’t lie down yet,” Kain breathed and despite the leather separating them, the younger vampire shivered at the sensation of his father’s cool breath against his member.

“Then get on with it,” he spoke through gritted teeth, and gripped the bed post hard for support as nimble clawed fingers tugged at the laceings on leather pants and freed his child’s arousal. Raziel let out a strained sound as the first tentitive kiss on the tip of his arousal sent stars shooting off behind his eyes. He wasn’t sure if it was because it had been so long or if it was because this was his father who was touching him but he seemed amazingly sensitive tonight but then again Kain had always known how to make him melt. He felt his hips jerk forwards sharply and felt his father gag, but as he was about to pull back Kain purred sending vibrations through him, making him shiver; claws sunk deep into the bed wood.

Raziel felt a horse cry escape him as his father greedily devoured him, relaxing his throat and taking him in to the hilt, pulling back slightly only to go back down again. Hand’s gripping Raziel’s hips moved back to roam over his backside as the hard press of fangs on either side of him just made Raziel shudder. He reached down to touch his father’s hair, and burring clawed fingers deep into it and gripping hard. The action made Kain purr again and again Raziel’s legs almost gave up their effort to keep him upright ad he leaned back against the bed post. As his father’s tongue teased the veins running along the underside of his shaft Raziel was unable to prevent himself from bucking forwards, driving his shaft deeper into his father’s mouth. He felt Kain laugh against him and his legs really did stumble this time and he groaned. Kain seemed to take this as a sign as suddenly the suction increased and the hands roaming Raziel’s backside moved with a purpose. Raziel reached down to cradle his father to him, hips now bucking faster as he sought realease from this torturous tightness that was both pain and pleasure, both physical and emotional. His skin felt on fire, his every fiber sizzling from the raw need and urgency racing through him. Then eyes fluttering close and head thrown back, he screamed his release.

He felt heat on his face and brought a shaking hand up to see what it was, blood, he hadn’t realised he was crying. Catching his breath he let his mind rebuild itself, Raziel attempted to think Kain had swallowed him before, but it had never been that intense it had always seemed like Kain felt obligated to give him something before he took him but what had just happened, he swallowed, that had felt like his father had really wanted to do that for him. Swallowing again his throat dry he looked down, Kain was still on his knees; hair tousled smirking up at him licking his lips. Reaching down he cupped his father’s face surprised when Kain turned and placed a kiss on his palm.

He was so different now, his father and yet not his father, Raziel had mentioned this to Vorador over the last few days when Kain had locked himself in his room. Vorador had wisely surmised that the change was linked to Kain’s memory; something had occurred in Meridian to change his father, make him colder and untrusting of anyone and everyone. At the moment Kain did not remember what that was and so was still willing to let another have control of him, to trust someone else; with everything apparently, even his body.

“Dear gods I love you,” Raziel all but growled out as he roughly pulled Kain up and held them together with a crushing force; bodies flushed against each other.

Eager hands groped Kain’s taut backside as his mouth claimed his father’s in a ravenous kiss, the taste of himself in his fathers mouth sent a lightening bolt of pure lust back down to his groin reawkening him. Kain purred feeling his child ‘come back to life’ against him and ground his hips against Raziel’s. Raziel groaned all thoughts of slow, tender remembering and familiarizing themselves with each other were long forgotten; he had to have his father right now. He needed it, the feeling of power and need mixed together dangerously inside of him. Raziel pressed back, still half expecting Kain to press against him but the aggressive action didn’t come, instead Kain lifted a leg, winding it around his childs hip before lifting the other allowing Raziel to lift him and turn them around dropping the onto the bed without breaking their kiss. Insainly at the back of his mind Raziel made a mental note to make his father eat more, Azimuth was right he was far to light, to thin.

Kain groaned appreceativly as his childe’s tongue ravished his mouth with harsh starved strokes, like a man deniead what he needs most and finally has it in his hands. Impacient now, Kain’s claws shreaded the shirt Raziel had been wearing, letting the tatters fall to the ground. Raziel drew back slightly and Kain opened his mouth to speak but swallowed his words as a desperate, starved mouth closed on his chest, nipping all the way down, little shallow bites that bled droplets but made him arch and cry out.

“Roll over,” Raziel breathed drawing back, and to his surpirise his father obeyed without a word, while still not sure if he liked this submission or if t was to alien Raziel decided it did have good points although part of him missed being pinned under a weight larger than his own and taken, he missed the feeling of giving in, of being controlled and dominated. But was beginning to enjoy the reverse.

Starting at the back of Kain’s neck Raziel left a burning trail of little shallow bites down his father’s back, immensly enjoying the little sounds they drew out of his normally quiet father. Grinning he bit hard on the bottom of his fathers back, right on the joint where back becomes backside. His father bucked at the bite and Raziel nearly got a broken nose, Raziel drew back giving a panting Kain a moment to regroup.

 “Touch . . . ,” a shallow breath “me,”

The words froze Raziel completely as he lent back down, his father was normaly nearly silent during sex, Raziel was used to nothing but growls and deep groans of approval; having him speak, having him beg it made Raziel want to die to presserve the moment eternally. He couldn’t help but obey and drew back sucking powerfully on a finger before sliding it down his fathers back and inside him. He felt Kain tense then sigh and he lay down, pressing all of his weight onto his fathers back, still searching inside of him, showering opened mouthed kisses across Kain’s shoulders. After a moment he slid anther finger inside and sissored them, stretching before resuming his search. It didn’t take long to find the little protrusion and gently he attacked it sinking fang into vein at the same moment.

The cry he got in return almost made him stop, thinking either he was hurting his father or he had just brought him. Swallowing hot blood he hadn’t tasted in over a millenia Raziel felt his eyes burn again and he drew back, pulling back completely.

“Roll over,” he was embaressed at the hic-up in his voice as the emotion worked its way up his throat. But the sight of his father trembeling beneath him made him burn again.

“Now,” Kain breathed wrapping legs around his child’s slim hips, Raziel smirked and holding his father’s hips in an iron grip, he buried himself in Kain’s tight heat in one smooth thrust and the noise he got in return set his very soul on fire.

“Now,” he answered when he found his voice. As his father tightened around him Raziel drew back before snapping forwards, Kain groaned appreciatively making Raziel tremble, trying to keep control. He moved out a little and snapped forwards again, another groan once more and he heard Kain scream. There that was it, with that knowledge Raziel let go of every fiber of control he’d ever had.

Raziel growled as he slammed into his father’s body, snapping his hips making them both cry out. His claws were digging into alabastor hips and he pulled his father back onto him with each thrust; he was drawing a lot of blood, the fur beneath them was becoming matted with it, sticky and warm. The smell of blood however just made him move faster still, movements becoming almost jerky, he was going to give himself wiplash, but it didn’t matter. Leaning forwards he sunk fang into his father’s shoulder; purring contently at the gasped cry and the tightening of pail arms around his shoulders, black claws digging into the soft skin of his back, blood running down between them making his movements smoother. He growled louder in his throat as he desperatly sought release from the still painful pleasure. Somewhere in the back of his mind it still hadn’t quiet sunk in that this was his father he was finally with once more, he still couldn’t believe it, Fate had given him the most wanted thing and it didn’t matter that he lacked a memory; it really didn’t matter because he was still Kain and Kain still wanted him. Love wasn’t tied to memory.

Time seemed to slow and speed up at the same time, it was fast enough that the building pressure was growing pheonominaly but it was slow enough that he could feel each sensation tearing through him each time he sheathed himself fully in his father. So lost was he that he barely noticed the splash of wet heat hitting his abs when Kain reached his peak; all he knew was the tightening of the muscles around him as his own orgasm caught him by surprise, sending him deep into unconciousness.

“That was good,” Raziel breathed as he slowly woke, curled under clean furs wrapped around his almost asleep father. Kain smiled at him sleepily, before closing his eyes “good,” he said again, Kain laughed

“Is that all you’re going to say now?” he asked still not openeing his eyes

“Mmm humm,” Raziel purred and nuzzled at Kain’s shoulder “I have missed you!”

“So you keep saying,” Kain tightened his grip on his child “how long could I have possibally been gone for you to miss me this much,” Raziel swallowed

“You’ve been dead a mortal lifetime, but I was gone an age and then we fought for a long time before then, so it’s . . .  been over a millenium since I’ve last actually told you,”

“Told me what?” Kain frowned opening an eye at Raziel’s tone

“I love you,” Raziel swallowed and buried his face deeper against his father’s shoulder “even when I hated you I still loved you, I still followed you and I never got to tell you how sorry I am.”

Kain didn’t say anything, couldn’t say anything. He didn’t yet know what Raziel was reffering to and now he was dreading remembering. So instead of speaking he just lay there in silence with his child.

End Chapter

Authoress note: yay lemon, it felt like we would never get there but here we are. I think I’m making Raziel into an emotional wreak, but then again he’s meant to be but I think I’m over doing it.
