On another’s Sorrow

Sequel to Slaughter

Disclaimer: Legacy of Kain belongs to Edios and Crystal dynamics, they are not me. I am making £0.00 out of this fic, it is written purely because I have a burning need to create.

Warning: it has to be said . . . . This fic contains YAOI (GuyXGuy), blood play and a lemon, if this offends or upsets you do not read this, it’s that simple. Please also note it contains Possible Defiance references.

If you choose to avoid any of these things the back button is right there for your use and I hope you find what you are looking for. By continuing and reading you are acknowledging the above information and accepting it.

Pairing: Kain/Raziel

Rating: NC-17

Part: One of Four maybe more.

Set: Post Blood Omen Two Pre Soul Reaver

Authoress note: This is a rewrite of the original, mainly due to the huge writer’s block I hit after I had finally managed to churn out the first chapter. I have been constantly re-reading this and finally decided the only way it was going to go anywhere was if I scrapped it and started again.

After such an overwhelming response from all of my reviewers about ‘Slaughter’ I could hardly say no when nearly every single one asked for a sequel.

I’m TIRED and this was HARD to write, stupid writers block!!! STUPID!!!! *fumes quietly in a small dark corner*

Chapter Four

Fractured Dreams

You may have uncovered your past but you know nothing of it

Kain: Soul Reaver

Seer left him outside Meridian with a few short words of encouragement and understanding; vowing to return if needed Seer turned and left him. Watching her go Raziel nodded to himself, his sense of purpose renewed; he would protect his father, he was the only one who could defeat the blue daemon and so he would. Creeping along the outer wall Raziel found the disused tunnel Kain had shown him when they had travelled north, apparently this tunnel had once been the Cabal’s only link to the outside world. Raziel sighed and continued down the tunnel confused with his own emotions, part of him felt guilty as Seer’s words sunk into him that it was he who had abandoned his father not the other way around, but he still felt as though he had been the one abandoned, it seemed to him that Kain had all but forgotten that he existed now.

But now he had a stronger emotion that drowned out the other, he had a purpose, he was needed; only he could keep his father safe from the strange blue demonic creature that Seer had said would kill him. He would keep him safe, even if it cost him his life. He entered the slums noticing that where he had been shot before and where once only a few drops of his blood had stained the cobbled streets now a large stain replaced it, he sniffed absently realising the blood was human. He frowned for a moment wondering if the archer who had shot him had at one point hit another who had been human. But the marks beside the blood stain told him otherwise, there were scuff marks on the street, the type of marks only made by metal tipped shoes, a Serefan had been killed here and he hadn’t gone without a fight.

Raziel moved on, as he moved deeper into the slums the smell of mortal blood was slowly becoming thicker here, thicker than usual; a lot of people had died here recently, last night if his guess was correct by the strength of the smell. But why would there suddenly be a massacre of humans in the slums? It didn’t make any sense. He followed the scent all the way through the district still confused as to why so many people should have died; it was almost as if the city had been invaded, but where were the invaders. He was nearing the lower city when he realised something was really, really not right, the streets were to quiet, almost as if deserted but there was a sound, a sound he knew in the distance, picking up his pace he moved closer to the noise. Rounding a corner he saw a group of eight Serefan, six of which were spilling their life onto the cobbled street, he swallowed heavily when he saw his father in-between the remaining two. Kain looked almost like he had lost his mind, blood covered him dripping from his claws and chin, and his eyes seemed wild, as if some predatory hunger had overcome his senses. He wasn’t even using the sword on his back as he broke through one of the serefan’s armour with his bare claws and tore the man’s chest to ribbons while the other watched to shocked to react. Raziel felt fear as he watched his father kill these men, wondering briefly why his father would do such a thing.

He knew Kain did not shy away from killing when it had to be done, and even when it didn’t, in fact he knew Kain’s temper would often get the better of him; but he knew his father was not stupid, a massacre like the one he assumed had happened would draw so much attention that Kain might as well have signed his own death warrant. Watching the dead Serefan fall to his knees then onto his face Raziel swallowed loudly and Kain’s head snapped up and he froze. The master vampire’s expression of wide eyed shock and wonder was almost comical, but Raziel didn’t feel much like laughing at that particular moment. Absently Kain’s left hand lifted and he released a small bolt of magic at the Serefan behind him who still had not moved, the mortal fell to the ground skin falling from his bones. Raziel made a disgusted but somewhat amused face before he was suddenly lifted up in strong blood stained arms, he often forgot how fast his father could move. The emotional silence last all but half a minuet before he was dropped roughly to the ground

“You bastard! Where the hell have you been?” Kain bellowed at him, claws tensed as if ready to rip Raziel’s throat out

“I was . . . was,” Raziel began rubbing his tail bone which he had been dropped on while flinching away should Kain attack him

“I thought he had got you! I thought . . . I thought, I . . . oh I don’t know what I thought! You scared me half to death.” Kain continued to rant, turning and walking away from his child claws still tensed

“I thought, you didn’t want me anymore.” Raziel muttered half hoping his father wouldn’t hear him, Kain span around to face him a look of pure surprise on his face

“You,” he managed before falling silent and shaking his head the anger seemed to bleed out of him in seconds “come here you wretched . . .” he held out his arms and Raziel went to him “you honestly believe I would bleed the city dry in vengeance if I didn’t want you.”

“Vengeance?” Raziel breathed, feeling the empty hollow place in his stomach slowly fill with heat, he was with his father again, he didn’t need to fear anything he was here and he was wanted.

“Yes,” Kain smiled into his child’s hair “I thought I’d lost you.” Raziel frowned

“But you’ve got Turel now.” He swallowed; Kain lightly cuffed his child on the back of his head

“You are a fool Raziel. A wretched fool.”

The bed was soft and smelt of three instead of two but Raziel no longer cared, Turel would never take his place no matter how hard he tried and the young fledgling didn’t seem too interested in trying. Said fledgling was currently down stairs asleep on one of the plush chairs, a book in his lap, one which he could not read. Raziel smiled as his attention was taken away from his little brother and brought back to his father who was currently above him, Raziel smiled into the drugging kiss Kain had suddenly decided to give him and his hands moved to settle on his father’s hips.

Kain pulled back from the kiss and looked down at his fledgling, delicate yet strong, a creature of sensual beauty that would one day rise to be the second most deadly killer in this land. He stared down at the fledgling as Raziel arched upwards impatient, pressing their hardened groins together while his grip on his hips tightened, and Kain couldn’t shake the warmth spreading through him no matter how hard he tried. For the first time in his life, he had someone who accepted him completely, who mourned when his attention was not always on him and who Kain knew he would never grow tired of.  Raziel made a slight desperate sound and forced his hips up harder again. Kain responded by bending down and kissing him deeply. The feel of his fledgling beneath him made the blood in his veins burn hotly, and he growled low in his throat and pulled Raziel more firmly against him, practically grinding his hips into his Childs. It had only been one night that they were separate and two nights since they had last done this together but for some reason it felt as if they had been apart months.

Raziel groaned softly into his father’s mouth and shifted beneath him, rubbing against him. He let out a soft sound when Kain pulled back and parted his thighs. Kain seemed to be watching him and Raziel felt himself glow, feeling his heart speed up in his chest making his unnecessary breathing that little bit faster. His chest rose and fell erratically which seemed to make Kain smile more. To try and distract his father Raziel allowed his hands to move from Kain’s hip and go upwards on his chest, gently scrapping claws over his death scar making him shiver. Becoming lost in his father’s reaction’s Raziel didn’t notice that Kain had poured oil into his hands and let out a yelp when warm oiled hands suddenly moved over his chest. It was relaxing, so much so that it was almost as if the strength was being leached out of him and Raziel’s hands fell back to his father’s hips.

The fledgling purred when Kain ran his fingers down his thighs and back up to stroke against the soft flesh on the insides of his legs. Raziel let out a short, sharp sound of shocked pleasure when his father grabbed his member and ran an oiled hand up and down while its twin delved lower slowly circling the fledgling vampire’s entrance breaching it slowly. Raziel’s mouth opened to gasp for air that his body didn’t really need and his eyes slid shut as the blood he’d consumed earlier on the way home rose to the surface making him blush. A deep groan escaped his throat as his father reached in further, his head lashed back and forth black strands of hair masking his face.

“Easy,” Kain breathed frowning slightly, his Childs reactions surprising him; it was almost as if the fledgling was in true pain.

Young eyes looked up to him pupils dilating as a finger brushed over his prostate.  He shivered hard when his father did it again almost teasingly, the smirking grin on Kain’s face widened as he tormented his child. Another finger slipped inside scissoring briefly before ghosting over his Childs prostate again. Raziel cried out, his thighs trembled and his stomach tensed. Kain stopped stroking his child as a third finger breached him and clear fluid dripped from his Childs tip. Clawed fingers shredded sheets as Raziel tried to find something other than his father to grip onto, Kain seeing how close his child was decided to wait a moment before entering and instead increased his torment of the tiny gland. Raziel whimpered and mewled loudly as the pulsing, roaring pleasure built inside of him until, with a final, sobbing cry, he reached his peak.

As the haze of pleasure cleared Raziel felt a small tickle on his stomach and looking down he watched his father lap his spilled seed from his belly, until only a little remained. With what was left Kain used it to coat his own straining member for extra lubrication. Raziel all out purred when his father stretched out on top of him, warmth filled him, a feeling of belonging and he knew then that he would belong to Kain forever. The knowledge shook him to his core and he purred as his father sank into his body with an almost reverent tenderness. Raziel sighed as he felt Kain’s manhood breaching the narrowness of his body. It was an easy, smooth thrust and he felt himself slowly growing hard again.

His father seemed to have frozen over him, face twisted in concentration as he caught breath that his body really didn’t need. Raziel reached up, hand burring itself in his father’s hair, Kain’s eyes opened and he looked to his child in mild confusion before giving a slow thrust.

Raziel groaned softly as his father started to move and find his rhythm. It was slow and powerful, fully entering him to pull out almost completely only to fill him again. Each movement brushed against his prostate and Raziel felt himself harden fully once more. Clawed hands scratched at his father’s back leaving little trails of blood in their wake as Kain slowly began to gain speed. The elder trying to keep silent despite his Childs verbal encouragement, he had to keep some dignity after all. But the claws on his back were moving round to his front, absently drawing blood on his stomach and chest and as they grazed over the scar left by his death he heard himself groan. Leaning down he captured his child’s mouth in his if only to stop the noises he was making. He could feel his child tensing again and sped up trying to push them both over. He felt his child suddenly tighten around him and heat splash against his stomach.

“God.” Kain hissed tensing up completely as his climax came filling his child with liquid heat and left them both trembling.

The dawn was visible on the horizon now.

Kain lay looking at a strange stain on the ceiling wondering if it looked more like some great daemon or a cat. His youngest curled against his left side, purring contently in sleep, grip tight on his left arm as if afraid his father would disappear in the night, his independent streak had been reforming itself but when he slept it seemed to disappear once again. His eldest lay curled against his right grip not quiet as tight but all of Raziel’s weight was pressed into his right side and Kain was slowly beginning to lose all feeling in his sides. Absently he wondered if all his children would be like this, Turel was obviously more independent than Raziel already wandering off on his own often and willing to be left alone at times when Raziel still threw hissy fits every time Kain left the house without him. Kain smirked to himself thinking about the others he would raise, trying to imagine if the bed would be big enough for all of them to fit. He doubted it but then maybe not all his children would want to sleep like this, he imagined that soon Turel would start demanding a bed of his own, but Raziel he knew would never shaking his head slightly at his thoughts Kain chuckled. Raziel sat up next to him, frowning, most likely wondering why he wasn’t sleeping. The fledgling’s gaze fell on his younger brother as if studying the younger vampire.

“If you stopped fussing you might even like him,” Kain mumbled around a yawn as Raziel poked his younger brother

“Humm he is kind of alright.” Raziel mumbled moving a strand of dark hair from his brother’s eyes. Turel’s eyes opened slowly before going wide, and his jaw slackened. He reached out and timidly put a clawed hand on his brother’s forehead. “Are you feeling all right? I thought that you . . . just spoke an endearment to me!”

Raziel jerked his head away and hissed at his brother “Just because I’ve admitted that I like you doesn’t mean I have to put up with your teasing.” Kain sighed closing his eyes and blocking out the now bickering fledglings.

They were going to need a bigger bed.
