Jealousy
{Raziel}
He hated
him!
He hated everything
about him. Everything from the tips of his hair to the tips of his fingers ad
toes, absolutely everything. He hated the fact that his father had to teach
Turel now and not him, hated the fact that Kain was always infinitely more
interested in what Turel was doing. But most of all he hated the fact that
Turel seemed to know this and that he used it. He used his younger age and
obvious dependency to twist his father away from him.
It felt
like Turel had always been here. The memory of the nights when he had not been here
seemed like a distant memory to the young fledgling. He missed those days, when
he wasn’t always fighting for attention. The battling between them seemed to
amuse his father, at least to an extent. He often chuckled when his children
‘subtly’ vied for his attention, each trying to outdo the other. But it was
something he knew he should not encourage, for he would need them all soon, and
they would be next to useless if they couldn’t work well together. The mortal’s
were feeble but they were many and more than once Kain had seen a vampire go
down under the numerous hands of the humans.
It was not
something he wanted to see again.
So when
Raziel openly snarled at his younger brother Kain cuffed him and hissed gently,
a warning not a true threat, just something to let his children know he
disliked this behaviour. But Raziel being Raziel took it personally and went
into a huff for an hour. It seemed to him like his father was openly favouring
Turel, punishing him for wanting to be the most loved, the most wanted, the
favourite. It wasn’t until Turel slept that night that he approached his father
again, subtly creeping closer, hoping not to be berated. Kain watched him, a
strange expression on his face, one of slight confusion and open amusement
despite the fact that he wasn’t smiling.
“Come on
then.” Kain sighed and stood up; Raziel smirked and followed as they walked out
and away from Turel. A hand on his shoulder made him smirk wider than before
and words of the future made him warm inside.
Maybe his
father did favour him after all.
End Drabble
Authoress note: Sorry its only a drabble, But
everything is mad this month, got my driving test in a few days, got another
exam in a week and then got to get all my shit together for the start of my
post-graduate course. So sorry for the lack of ficcage but everything is just
too manic at the moment. Something will come soon though.
