"A NOBLE TRANSGRESSION"

You ask of me; yet think me still,
inferior to your great thrill;
And of your lands, your legions fill,
to die for you and thus I will.

I cannot promise night or day,
and of your debts I can't repay;
So one last object...end my way,
now before you it will lay.

You, the mother who has no time,
bourne of you in now my prime;
What place is this that's so sublime,
ignores my need like it were crime.

I'll shun this place, deny my past,
Yet gawk at me, they all amassed
Do point a finger to me the last,
who'll not forgive for those days past.

Refuse my emotions, all my tears,
I resent of those which know my fears;
Look not to me...I'll hide for years,
but wait for rise among my peers.

At last the day when I am call
ed,
to help your problems be then solved;
your service strikes me un-appalled,
my life
...this place...within evolved.

Though hard to swallow is the pill,
and God have mercy, for I you kill;
But as my right my duty still...
to die for you, and thus I will.
