Biosphere IV-Life Systems
Our duty as the Life Systems Team is to provide everything needed to sustain our Biology professor, Dr. Linda Leigh, within the confines of the biotube.

First, we must calculate the total volume of the biotube, then assess the amount of oxygen and the amount of carbon dioxide that will already exist within the tube.

Next we will have to calculate the amount of oxygen that Linda will need for 24 hours, and how we will keep the oxygen level within the safe range of 18-21% total.  We will also need to know how much carbon dioxide she will be putting into the air, so that we can maintain a level between 100-8000 ppm.

We will be able to control the two previous parameters by insuring that we have the right amount of plant life to produce enough oxygen for Linda and absorb the carbon dioxide that she produces.

Aside from the plant life, we will also need to provide Linda with all the comforts of home.  Since she will be inside the biotube for 24 hrs., we will need to provide her with a bed, food and water, and a restroom (of sorts).  We are going to make this experience as comfortable as we can for Linda.

We are on a budget of $200 for this project.  That is $200 combined for all the groups, so we will need to do some careful planning, and make sure we are working with the other groups, so that we do not exceed this budget.
