Lt. Tom Pullings
Name: Tom Pullings Nationality: British Age: 20 Birthday: December 30 1785 Rank: 2nd Lieutenant- H.M.S. Surprise Information: Even when he was little growing up on a farm in Blackburn his mind was splattered with a life on the sea and his own time when he would be old enough to serve his country. His older brother Charles was already enlisted and fighting bravely, said he was the best lieutenant ever, though Tom was sure this was a lie. Charles was nothing but a lazy bum that had weaseled his way up into the rank only by pure luck- he was sure of it. Well, with his parents only having eyes for the older of the two, he ran away at the age of 12 and finally joined the navy as a midshipmen, having enough knowledge to move on- thanks to the seamanship books his brother left at the house once when he was visiting. Took service under Horatio Lord Nelson in Portsmouth and found himself quickly in the battle of the Nile, with Lieutenant Jack Aubrey. Tom soon found out the books and his brother downplayed the life upon the sea more then he thought and was soon wishing he was back home again. The battle though seemed to straiten him out a bit and when he was put over on Aubreys ship only a few months later was finally figuring out all the quirks to a rolling ship. In December the H.M.S Surprise was down in India and Tom was wandering around the port (with Aubreys permission) and ran into Twig. After getting rather mad about his persistence took him back to the ship and had the captain sign him in. Secretly he thought the fellow to be rather odd at first but liked him after a few years; he has gained a somewhat strange friendship with him. Going up through the ranks at the normal pace is now a lieutenant and with the witnesses to prove it, he can finally say hes the better officer over his brother. Description: Like many other officers, he has a few battle scars on his face and other places, one being covered up by brown wavy hair which is tied back with a ribbon. Tom has light blue eyes and is rather skinny for his tall height, but his new uniform still fits quite nicely. Too bad its so hot in the sufferable heat of the Caribbean.
