Peter Raven
Name: Peter Raven Gender: Male Age: 13 years Rank: Midshipman of the Suprise Physical Description: Of average height for his age, Peter has a pleasant face when he is smiling. Due to a Spanish ancestor somewhere in the family line, he has dark hair and well-cut features, accented by the handsome, striking blue and green eyes that stand out in his pale face. Peter is of a slim build and is rather agile, especially when it comes to darting about in the passageways of a boarded ship. However, as an adolescent, he is just beginning his growth spurt and is forever tripping over his lengthening feet, which just don't seem to stop getting bigger. Personality Description: Though he tries to be as polite and friendly as possible to anyone who approaches him, Peter is quite awkward around those holding a higher rank than himself and often gets his sentences turned around. Luckily for him, when it's a lady he's addressing, they usually giggle and think him rather cute--in a gentleman, however, he'll probably be ignored or frowned upon. Battle, however, is a different matter: though sickened by his very first taste of naval combat, Mr. Raven nonetheless is bold and a decent enough fighter for his age. With those he is familiar with, Peter is a source of humor. He's picked up decent wit from countless visits from a wide variety of people who attend his family's parties, and is well-educated. He is also extremely loyal to anyone he considers a friend, to a point where his complete trust can be dangerously misplaced. History: Born in England on his family's considerable estate, Peter's father, William, a clergyman, and his mother, Abigail, instilled their personal anti-slavery, "be kind to your fellow man" beliefs in their son and two daughters at a very early age. They also made sure that their children as well as all those under their employment were given a good education that would serve Peter well later in life. Currently, he speaks fluent French, a mixture of Spanish and Portugese, and fairly good Latin. At the age of twelve, Peter was sent off to serve in the Navy aboard his uncle's ship, the H.M.S. Torren, but was transferred at random about five months after to the Surprise, upon which he has served ever since.
