David
Elijah Carton
Name: David Elijah Carton Age: 28 DOB: January 2, 1777 Information: David is an English marine from the H.M.S. Galley, which was captured after the Peace of Amiens was discarded. His father was a schmoozer that married a gypsy fortune teller. He disappeared one day, only returning to steal David's hard earned money from his brother Victor. David had been working in a small lumber yard, but the next year the owner was pressed while badgering a man at the ship yards. Rather than look for other work, David signed up as a marine to continue supporting his mother. His brother Victor offered little help, but David is very proud of him because he was able to earn a prodigious scholarship to study in Exeter, while David acquired the same language disorder as his mother. He has trouble with grammar, especially the past tense and therefore became shy at an early age and rarely speaks. All the same, David hopes Victor has been able to contribute some money while David has been stuck in prison. David is generally quiet but also very sarcastic and comes off as cruel at times because of the smart remarks in between long stretches of silence, though he is truly kind. After escaping prison in the Provinces, David was discovered by Nickolai Chevalier in Toulon and joined their party. They had been hired by Archie Kennedy to help get William Bush's family out of Germany before Napoleon invaded where they were living. David needed the money and joined up. Not the brightest even among marines, he was soon mislead by a lonely Nicki into believeing he was a pouffe. The illusion luckily wore off by the time they reached England, where he married Dounia, Nicki's sister. He is now supporting her, her daughter Mishka, their adopted daughter Art (another tag along from Toulon), their unborn child, and unknowingly Jim Hawkins, Art's friend. David is working aboard the H.M.S. Surprise. As a side note, he found Victor in germany, dropped out of school because of their father hijacking David's funds. His new pursuits were closer to their mother's interests--witch craft. Appearance: Black hair, presently a bit greasy from his trek across the country. He has bright green eyes and a light tan, still slowly fading from his time at sea. He has a smug smile and a saunter plainly characteristic of an English seaman to match the big British ears sticking out from his hair and prominent nose. He is dressed in stolen peasant garments, with his uniform and supplies stuffed in his sack.
