Name: Claude Marie Meursault (aka Agent Smith when he had no name ) Age: 33 DOB: 20 November 1772, Scorpio Appearance: Because of his mother's Spanish blood, he has a more healthy complexion and thicker hair than most of the French. Info: He was born to an aristocratic family that had been squandering its wealth before the revolution, though this hardly caused them to live frugally. Because he was born in Spain, he was protected from the Terror of the Revolution. Claude was tutored at home when he was younger and rarely spent time with his parents except on occasions where they meant to show him off at public events. He did nothing with himself in his youth, occupying himself rather with law, philosophy, etcetera. After a passionate exchange between himself and a near neighbor named Genevi, resulting in a son named Marie, the two were forced to marry by both sets of parents and lived together on a small estate purchased for them by the Meursaults. He was 16 at the time, Genevi 18. A few years later, Claude's occupation as a lawyer drew him into politics and he returned to France in hope to restore order in the country of his father, where he'd spent much time as a child. Thanks to divorce laws still intact from the Revolution, however, both Genevi and himself arranged to be separated, and he left their home to her in Spain, continuign to send funds. He quickly became a supporter of the Consulate. He is a strong supporter of the firm military rule after the disorder the Revolution caused throughout continental Europe. He's very intelligent, though a little less quick on his feet after such a sheltered childhood. Despite his mother's strong belief in Catholicism, his father was not very religious, and he onlyr eceived instruction in this area from his tutor or at times when they attended mass. He frequently claims to have grown up int he Revolution and not been exposed to religion until he had a less gullible mind, though this isn't true, simply easier than th emore lengthy explanations. Now that he has escaped near capture in England, not in a manner totally dissimilar to Jean's, he is on his way to meet with the Emperor directly to give an overview of their work in the enemy's country: that they completed their assignments to date but gathered little on the navy considering their time there- largely due to Jean's distraction with the theatre and a few... close acquaintances he made. Knowing Jean to be escaped and in France, Claud did not refrain from telling his leader of his suspicions, even if they did not quite hold up with Jean's return. After an encounter with Serena Kraege in Paris, Claude arranged for her to be given a letter of marque to continue as a French privateer. During a journey with her, he feared she was a spy due to Kraege's friendly run-in with Diana Kennedy. This led him to give away his occupation as a spy to Diana while threatening her, expecting that he would have both women arrested. This was not the case, and he has recently returned to England to murder the loose end. Luckily, most peopel think he's dead because Victor Carton sent him into a coma in Germany that he didn't wake from until 4 months later. After those 4 months, he returned to England to try and dispose of Mrs. Kennedy, who had been made aware of his occupation while being escorted back to the English blockade in Toulon. Unable to kill the new mother, however, he quickly found himself falling for her instead-- and into a big heap of trouble.
