Entry Title:  God Bless Technology
I just watched Swept Away on DirecTv.  It's that movie Madonna starred in that all the critics disliked.  But I really liked it...I really liked Evita too.  I think the critics don't like Madonnas movies because they don't like her, not because of the quality of the movie or her acting.  Anyway, that's off the point.  I decided to revise my previous goals.  Now, there's nothing wrong with the previous ones, but I thought tonight for a change I would be completely honest with myself.

If life were perfect and uncomplicated, my life would be very different from the one I'm living.  I don't like the stress of everyday living here.  I hate this environment and this society.  If life were perfect I wouldn't be living in any sort of city.  I'd be overseas traveling the world on next to nothing.  I'd be out in nature so much more.  I'd climb mountains and bathe in rivers.  I'd travel often, but during the times I want to stay put, I'd live in a small village, somewhere near a coast.  Somewhere where it's always warm and you walk or ride a bike everywhere you go.  Somewhere where I could fish for my food and pick vegetables and cook them that night.  Somewhere where emotions are the only things that can get complicated- a place without pharmacies and Jewels, where prepackaged food is nonexistant.  And designer clothing is a joke.  Somewhere where a facial is real mud from your backyard and where there are no lawyers or movie stars, but only people with real jobs.  In my perfect world there doesn't exist the fakeness of our reality and the technology that disables us.  Just people working to survive.  Just a real happy life.

Maybe my dream is silly, but what I wouldn't do for it to be true.  I want a simple happy life.  I want to be free.  I want this world to be forgiving enough to allow me to live that dream.

Now I'm going to let my conciousness go back to the dreary real world and get to bed so I can wake up and eat processed food and watch mindless TV.  God Bless Technology.
