If Anyone Else Asks Me If I'll Change Over The Summer, I Will Fucking Explode
Flipping through my yearbook gives me about a thousand shitty cliches to choose from. there's the ever-popular "have a good summer!!" with the idiot smily face under the exclamtion point. Then comes "I'm so excited for HIGH SCHOOL!!!!!!". Sorry, but there is no excuse for that one. Yes we're going to high school. Get over it. This doesn't require six or seven exclamation points.
Then, if the signer is white, they lapse into that goddamn "gansta" lingo that any self-respecting gansta stopped saying years ago. Like "yo homie we'z be goin down in da hood ova da summer yo. you besta be keep it real, b-dizzle" According to the Almighty Fucking Gods of Yearbook Signing, if the signer is a girl, this adds humor.
Could someone please tell me why we can't think for ourselves anymore? Isn't our fucked-up theme 'Individuality'?

MY TWO CENTS (and maybe some facts) ON:
The Stern Issue
This morning, (June 30), Howard Stern called a press conference. Mr. Stern has earned AMD/OHS-wide recognition for his morning show on 92.3 KROCK (webpage here) He's also become well-known because of him being a target for the FCC. A few months ago, his show was dropped by the network Clear Channel, due to indecency charges. These were actually the reason why he called the press conference in the first place. Stern said he planned to expand his audience by moving his show into 9 more cities, among them Pittsburgh. I have yet to find out why Pittsburgh is so damn special.
Anyway, before you all fuck me over with hate mail ("you blasted THE UNDERCURRENT for being random, but no one gives a shit about howard stern so you shoudl be ashamed and i'm going to ram hot pokers up your ass, etc, etc") this has to do with my site for a few reasons. I have lots of respect for Mr. Stern because he has the courage to speak out about his opinions and he doesn't like George Bush.
About a week ago, a girl from AMD email me asking me if i agreed or disagreed with the statement "It is better to start trends and stand out than it is to follow other peoples' trends and fit in." If this were any other site, (or
the undercurrent, for that matter) I'd probably launch onto a diatribe about how i started to think real hard about the statement and "discovered my true self, like Oprah". But it's not.

So I say 'Shit yea! Got any more statements?'

SITE NEWS SITE NEWS SITE NEWS!

Just like old people, Freedom is Slavery is slowing down for the summer. Every now and then we might slap something up out of boredom/something that really pisses me off, but otherwise this is the last "official" edition (until Sept. and the shitty cliques start up again). Set up your stupid mourning arm bands now.

In other news, we're adding a Guestbook and considering a mail page. Email
