| Me and Lifehouse |

| The first time I heard about Lifehouse was in January 2000 when my friend Randy told me about them, he said they're a very new band but very good. I know he has a pretty good taste in music so I went to a CD store and ordered their album "No Name Face", after a few weeks it arrived at the CD store (I don't really remember how long it took, I think it was 3 weeks). I went to the store, listened to the CD for a minute or 2 and bought it (That was February 2nd, 2001). I payed about 34DM (17) which is pretty much for a CD here, but that was ok. I have the CD for almost a year now and it's still my fave CD. I taped in to a cassette which I have in my walkman and listen to it everywhere (on trains, etc.). I really love their music, it means much to me, and it's special in a way I can't really tell. You have to listen to it yourself. I think it's so cool that such a young man as Jason Wade can write such amazing lyrics/music. He is really gifted. My fave songs on "No Name Face" are "Simon" and "Everything" but "No Name Face" is the one and only CD I like everysingle song of. Well, to get back to what I first wrote about, I got "Hanging By A Moment", their first single as soon as it came out. My friend Tina (who is also a great Lifehouse Fan...I convinced her :-)) and I went to like 5 stores before we found the single. Sometime in July I founded a Yahoo Lifehouse club, the first German as far as I know :-) Unfortunately Lifehouse aren't that well-known here, if you go to a CD store and ask about their new single "Sick Cycle Carousel" they are like "What?" or "You mean the Lighthouse Family, don't you?" :-( Well, I guess the Germans simply don't have a good taste in music, otherwise "Hanging By A Moment" and "No Name Face" would have been much more successful, I think they only went to No. 60 or so, and now aren't in the charts any more (while in the USA they are very successful, HBAM is Single No.1 of the year 2001). Since they are hardly known here, there has only been one concert in Germany so far, on June 18th, 2001 in Hamburg, which is on the other side of the country, and I only heard of it after it took place. That's why I haven't been able yet to go to a concert and see Lifehouse live. I think it would be awesome. But there's hope they will have a few concerts in Germany this year, and you can be damn sure I'll go to at least one. Okay, I guess this is enough blahblah about my opinion of Lifehouse. Just three more words... I LOVE LIFEHOUSE!!! And thank you Randy, that you told me about Lifehouse :-) (Yeah I know that was more than 3 words) |
