LifeBALL is a fun team game played at a walking pace and is suitable for any age group. It is similar to other ball games such as netball and basketball that incorporates activities such as walking, passing and throwing.

LifeBALL is a thinking game designed to improve skill, fitness and encourages physical movement and teamwork in a fun relaxed atmosphere.

LifeBALL can be played on any flat even surface that is marked similarly to a netball court. The court is divided into three zones. There are six players in each team. The idea of the game is for two opposing teams to advance the ball to a spot where a goal can be attempted. Everyone has the chance to participate, as the rule is that each player has to touch the ball along the way. Rules of the game are designed to assure your safety while playing. For example, no throws above shoulder height are allowed so you don't overbalance. Crowding or body contact is definitely discouraged. If a player commits an illegal movement the ball is given to the other team.

LifeBALL was originally developed by the Greater Murray Area Health Service and was brought to the Northern Rivers district by the Health Promotion Unit of the North Coast Area Health Service, with co-operation of many local organisations and individuals.

Murwillumbah LifeBALL meets each Thursday from 9am to 11am at the Basketball Stadium behind the Murwillumbah Seventh Day Adventist Church Complex, Racecourse Rd, Murwillumbah.

The cost is a one-off annual fee of $20 for insurance and a $2 fee per session, which includes refreshments. (Insurance is through the NSW Basketball Association.)
