| Charcoal, White Cante and Pastel on 18x24" Drawing Paper. This was at first done only in the charcoal and cante and I only went back with the dark red at the end to give more depth and interest. The surface he's laying on also has some dark blue color but I'm not sure if its noticeable in this image. If you're wondering what's that on his head, its an african mask (hence the name of the piece, Masked) though it probably could have passed as hair if I didn't just point it out. I was going to try to cut it out of my drawing but found that I couldn't do it without making him look strangly positioned on the page. | ||||
