~*~ Epilogue: And So It Is... ~*~
John knocked on Brandi’s door room when the doorbell of their house rang and opened it a little.
“He’s here.” he said and was closing the door behind him when Brandi called out for him
“Johnny!”
“Yeah?”
“Can you please distract him while I finish here?”
“Finish what? You look great!”
“Johnny, please?”
“Alright, alright.” Johnny rolled his eyes and closed the door behind him.
“Thanks!” Brandi said louder so her brother would listen to her from behind the door “Ok, ok. So what’s missing?” she took her twentieth look at the mirror “Oh!” she ran to her closet.
“So, she’s getting downstairs in a minute.” John informed Seth as he motioned for him to enter the house and head to the living room.
“Oh, ok. Thanks, man.”
“Sure.” John nodded.
There was an awkward silence there and Seth being Seth couldn’t let that happen.
“I never really had the chance to apologize properly for that night at the restaurant when you and Bran—“
“Oh, don’t worry. Honest mistake!” John cut him off.
Seth nodded and played with his fingers.
“So, you’re in college, huh?” Seth insisted on the little talk.
“Yep.” John nodded.
“Freshman?”
“Nope. Sophome.”
“Oh, cool. And do you know you’re major yet?”
“Physical Therapist.”
“Wow, that’s… different. Don’t ever -”
At that moment, Seth stopped talking and stood up. Brandi was entering the room and she looked stunning. For Seth, because she was pretty much wearing her regular clothes: a black pair of Capri pants, a pinky baby-tee and black high-heel sandals.
John passed by her, kissed her on the forehead and headed to his room.
They stood still for a while, just looking at each other. She timidly smiled and he maintained the huge one he had on since the minute she walked into the room.
She looked down at that she was holding on her hands and headed towards him.
“Very sneaky you are.” She waved the CD she had on her right hand “I never noticed you placed this CD inside my purse. When was it?”
“Today, at lunch.” He got closer to her “I can be pretty sneaky, you know?” he raised an eyebrow, which made her giggle and looked down a bit.
‘She is perfect.’ he thought.
‘He is perfect.’ she thought.
“So…” they both said at the same time.
“Go ahead.” Brandi said.
“No, please, you first. It’s your house.”
“This being my house, I rule here, so… you go first.” she showed off her tongue a little and he chuckled.
“Ok, your house, your rules.” he took her hands in his and she held her breath for a brief second, taken aback by his action “Can we at least sit down?”
He led her to the couch. She didn’t say a thing, just sat beside him and placed the CD on the table in front of them.
Seth was looking down at his hands when he began.
“Ok. So, here’s the thing.” he looked up at her and stopped for a while. She had just some high liner on her eyes and lip gloss, but she looked amazing. He smiled fondly.
“What?” Brandi asked worried “My make-up is messed up, right?” she was moving her hand from her lap to her face when he stopped her.
“No! It’s perfect!”
“Than what were you smiling about?” Brandi frowned.
“You.”
“Me?” Brandi kept the frown.
“Yeah. You.” Seth kept the smile.
“What do you mean?”
Seth stopped for a while and thought of what to say, but realized he didn’t have to think anymore. Everything was clear. Everything there was to say was already inside his mind. He just had to spit it out. So he took a deep breath and began.
“We know each other for what? 10 days now.” Brandi nodded “The first time I talked to you was to invite you to my comic book club that, well… we all knew wouldn’t go too far.” Brandi giggled “Yeah, funny.” Seth smiled a little “That first time we talked, it felt like, for me at least, we’ve known each other for ages.” Brandi nodded. It was weird how that fact was actually true. It did feel like they’ve know each other before “After that talk, actually, after that very first time you bumped into me and dropped your pen, I was totally intrigued by you.” Brandi frowned “I knew nothing about you, but wanted to know everything. That never had happened before to me. You mesmerized me. And the crazy think was that that same day I was completely determined to go back to my ex girlfriend, but something inside my mind changed and I had a new focus: you.” Brandi felt a little ashamed, but also felt great hearing that. She timidly smiled and looked down “In these 10 days I still know pretty much nothing about you, except you name, your taste in music, the way you like to dress up, the way you look in a perfect party dress, and today I got to know where you live…” Brandi giggle “But none of those matter because the most important things are: I know how I feel when I have you in my arms, I know your smell, I know how soft your skin is when it’s close to mine and I know the fantastic taste of your mouth. Just knowing that makes me feel sure that all of that is what I want for the rest of my life.”
Brandi looked up and froze. She got nothing. Nothing to say. Seth’s words were perfect. She couldn’t say anything that would much up to that. She was really left speechless in front of him and those incredible brown eyes of him.
She just kept looking at him like that for a while, not saying a word.
After a while, Seth started to get worried. Was she dumping him? She couldn’t dump him because they didn’t have a relationship or something. But was she gonna say that she didn’t feel the same and was looking for the nicest words possible to ruin his world?
“Ok. So, now you have to say something, because if you don’t, I’m gonna go crazy and I’m gonna start imagining things that can or cannot be true and I’m gonna start babbling and I know you don’t like me when I start babbling because you always cut me off when I do it, and…”
Suddenly, Seth felt Brandi’s lips on his. Both of their hearts were beating rapidly. Just the touch of their lips sent their heart bit way up. It was perfect that way. Seth and Brandi. Brandi and Seth. Them.
Without moving his lips, Seth sat closer to Brandi and placed both his hands on her face. He deepened the kiss and Brandi moaning softly when she felt his tongue entering her mouth and exploring every single part of it. While kissing him, she placed her right hand between his curly hair and caressed him. He moaned softly too with her touch and Brandi smiled a little when she heard the sound.
The kissed seemed to be taken forever when Seth pulled back.
“Ok. You almost killed me here.”
“Because you’re silly.” Brandi kissed the tip of his nose.
“Me? Silly? Come on, be serious now!” he joked.
“Of course silly!”
“Why silly?”
“What did you think I’d say or do?”
“I don’t know. You could break me. My heart, I mean. I couldn’t know you’d like me back and…”
“Of course you knew!” she smiled.
“No, I didn’t!”
“Yeah, you did! Like Ryan wouldn’t tell you!” she rolled her eyes.
“Ryan knew?” Seth raised his voice a little, surprised.
“You didn’t knew Ryan knew?” she frowned.
“No! I never knew that Ryan knew that you knew that you liked me!” Brandi frowned and so did Seth “Ok, so that came out weird.”
“Yeah…” she giggled “But I got the idea.”
“I’m so gonna kick Ryan’s ass when I get home!” Seth put an angry look on.
“Yeah, right!” just the thought of it made Brandi laugh.
“What?” Seth asked “What are you laughing about?”
“Did you listen to what you just said?”
“You’re laughing because you doubt I can kick Ryan’s ass?” Seth raised both eyebrows. Brandi just nodded “You doubt me! Can’t believe it!”
“Oh, come on, baby! I’m just being rational.”
“I can beat him.”
“Of course you can!” she nodded while smiling.
“I can!”
“At your Playstation games.”
“Yeah, but I never told you that wasn’t the way I was planning on kicking his ass! Ha!” Seth did a winner look. Brandi couldn’t control herself and pecked his lips “So… What now?” he asked her.
“You wanna be with me?” she asked.
“That’s the only thing I can think of right now.” he answered sincerely “What about you?” he asked apprehensively.
“Ever since that day of the dropping pen, never thought differently.” she smiled into his eyes and he replied doing the same.
They both leaning in at the same time and kissed passionately, thinking of
never being this happy before.
