LOS ANGELES, CA – HOTEL – APR.7th, 2002 – SUNDAY

     Ashley was still writing stuff down on that same piece of paper he had in the studio.

     After a couple of minutes, he backed away and took a better look at the paper right in front of him.

     “Ok. I think it’s perfect. So, ok. I gotta tell the guys about it. Let’s see what they think of it. Oh, man…” Ashley took the paper out of the desk, headed outside his room and went searching for his four band members.

 

REDDING, CA – HARBOR HIGH – APR.7th, 2002 – SUNDAY

     Before Kirstin and Jared’s kiss could even begin, it ended. Nor Kirstin or Jared could even tell who had pulled back from the kiss first. When they pulled back, they just stared at each other confused. They kept in silence for a while, but soon enough Jared decided to break it.

     "I'm sorry." Jared said, backing away "I wasn’t trying to... I mean… I didn't want to… I mean… There’s Cindy… And… And then there’s Ashley… And then there’s you… and me… and… I mean… I…”

     “I have to go.” Kirstin didn’t even look at Jared when she said that and turned around to leave the place.

     “No!” Jared yelled and grabbed Kirstin’s hand right after she turned her back to him.

     “Please, Jared. I need to go. I can’t be here. I can’t… Let me leave. I can’t do this. I can’t even think about this. Please, let me go.” she said and released herself from Jared’s grip.

     There was nothing Jared could do or say. He knew she didn’t mean to do what she did and he didn’t mean to kiss her back. He was obviously confused as he watched Kirstin run directly at her car, get inside and take off.

     “Shit!” Jared yelled when Kirstin’s car disappeared into the darkness “Shit, shit, shit!” Jared raised his arms up and then rubbed his forehead.

 

LOS ANGELES, CA – HOTEL – APR.7th, 2002 – SUNDAY

     “Ok. You guys stay here. Now let me go to Jacob’s room to get him. I’ll be right back.” Ashley informed Dan, Erik and Trevor who were at that moment all sitting inside Erik’s room.

     Ashley headed off Erik’s room and headed straight to Jacob’s. He impatiently knocked on the door.

     “What?” Jacob asked, annoyed by the constant knocking.

     “Hey, Jake, are you busy?” Ashley asked Jacob as soon as he answered the door. Ashley was so excited he didn’t even noticed Jacob’s evident annoyed look.

     “No, why?”

     “Could you just come here for a second, please?” Ashley asked and didn’t even wait for an answer to start walking again, heading for Erik’s room. Jacob quickly closed the door of his room and followed Ashley.

     “What’s going on?” Jacob asked worried.

     “I have to show you guys something. The other three are in here already.” Ashley informed Jacob as both of them got inside Erik’s room. Dan and Erik were sitting on the foot of the bed and Trevor was walking around.

     “Ok…” Jacob frowned at Ashley and then decided to sit on a chair to hear and to see whatever it was that Ashley had to say and show.

     “What the hell is going on, Ashley?” Erik questioned.

     “Yeah…” Dan continued “What’s so important that all four of us have to be here?”    

     “Ok. I just need you guys to read this.” Ashley waved the piece of paper to the guys “After you read this, you’ll know exactly what I mean. Here. Take it.” Ashley handed the piece of paper to Erik and the other three guys gathered around him to read the paper at the same time. Ashley was pacing around the room while they were reading it.

     After a little while, Erik handed Ashley the paper back.

     “So… what did you think?” Ashley nervously asked.

     “What does that mean?” Jacob frowned.

     “Don’t you get it?” Ashley frowned and looked down at the paper again.

     “I get it. But, I mean… Are you…” Dan started but got interrupted by Ashley.

     “I’m gonna propose to Kirstin!” Ashley exclaimed.
