UnPlanned Love
Chapter 46
"Well Mr. Carter I think you will really enjoy your trip. This
is the perfect time to go." the travel agent smiled as she handed
him all the paper work.
"So everything is in here?" Nick said as he looked down at
the folder.
"Everything but you." She said smiling.
"Thank you."
"No thank you and I hope you and your family has a
wonderful time." The agent said assuming Liz and Alex was his
wife and child.
"Oh we will." He said with a smile.
"Lizzy. Hey Lizzy! I got a surprise!" Nick called as he entered
the house. He laid the folder down on the kitchen table, "Where
are you? Lizzy!" He walked through the living room and up the
stairs. "Elizabeth!" He yelled as he reached her door. He opened
the door and entered nearly tripping over something. He looked
down and saw her foot was what he nearly tripped over. "Lizzy!
Oh god Lizzy!" He rushed to her side noticing the blood pooled
around her head. "Oh God." He grabbed the phone from the
bedside table and dialed 911.
"911 what is your emergency."
"My friend is laying in the floor. She's not moving and there
is blood everywhere."
"Okay, calm down, sir. Are you located at 2769 Laguna
Street Malibu?"
"What, yeah that's right. Hurry please. She's not moving."
He said tears thickening his voice, "Lizzy baby wake up."
"Don't move her sir. She could have damage to her spinal
cord."
"Okay, don't move her." He repeated to himself.
"Sir can you tell if she is breathing? Can you look at her
chest and see if it is rising and falling?"
"Uh, I don't know. Wait! Yes it's going up and down. Lizzy!
Wake up Lizzy, please wake up." He sobbed into the phone his
voice breaking.
"Okay sir, calm down please. I have paramedics on their
way. They should be there in just a few minutes. Don't hang up
until they get there okay?"
"Okay." His voice was quieter he reached out and touched
the back of her head. His sobs filled the room as his hand came
back covered in blood.
"Sir, have the paramedics arrived yet?"
"I think I can hear a siren. Yeah, I hear it. Thank you." He
ended the call and ran out of the room and down the stairs.
"She's upstairs." He said as the paramedics entered the house.
He watched them through tear hazed eyes as they gently placed
her on the stretcher. Her face was pale, her lips had a faint blue
color to them.
"Sir, are you going to ride with us or follow?"
"I want to ride with you." Nick replied his voice breaking and
Nick followed them out of the house.
